August is going to be a FUN month here at Simply Simple Stamping. Throughout the month, I will be sharing some great ways to use the Aqua Painters, starting with today’s 2-Minute Tuesday Tip.
Before we get into the video, let me share some info about the Aqua Painters.
- You actually get 2 brushes – 1 medium brush tip, 1 large brush tip, so you can do big watercolor washes or finer detailed work.
- Unlike the knock-offs the craft stores sell (which drip everywhere), Stampin’ Up’s Aqua Painters have a stopper inside the tip to allow water to flow only when you squeeze the barrel.
- You can add any kind of liquid to an Aqua Painter – water, rubbing alcohol, bleach, etc.
- They last forever! I have had this same set of Aqua Painters for over 10 years.
- They are wonderful for shading your stamped images.
- Want to “smear” color in a stamped image? Aqua Painters are perfect!
- You don’t have to be a water color artist to use them.
I am definitely NOT a water color artist. I have always struggled with it. Now I’m not going to sit here and tell you that Aqua Painters have turned me into a water color expert. I still have to practice it and get the hang of it, but for some of the simple techniques that I like to do (there is a reason I call this SIMPLY SIMPLE Stamping), the Aqua Painters are the best!
In the first video in Aqua Painter August, I am going to talk about the liquid you put inside your Aqua Painter. Should you use water? Should you use rubbing alcohol? I will show you on 5 different types of white cardstock that Stampin’ Up offers so you can see what liquid works best.
Today’s 2-Minute video is longer than 2 minutes but there was just so much to share!
Be sure to add Aqua Painters or any of our white cardstock to your next order! Just click a pic!
Last month, I shared the Carols of Christmas stamp set and guess what? You can ORDER IT NOW! Yep, Stampin’ Up offered this set as little Christmas bonus for you. Get a jump start on your Christmas cards this year with this wonderful stamp set and matching framelits!
I do want to point out something you may not have noticed about the framelits. They are not all Christmas themed. Do you see that border (over on the right)? What a GREAT framelit to give any card a beautiful extra touch of class. It’s perfect! Oh, and the 2 corner framelits will give the same effect. The trees, well, you know those are going to be perfect for your masculine cards. The moon & stars and the little leaves will be perfect all year long. So, all that to say, this bundle isn’t just for Christmas! Enjoy it long after the holidays are over!
