During the month of September, I will be sharing some 2-Minute Tuesday Tips on using back-to-school supplies in your stamp room. We all love a good bargain and back-to-school time is a GREAT time to grab some deals. Last week I shared how to use pencil erasers to create fabulous polka dots. Today I want to share how to use a 3-ring binder to store your Framelits & Thinlits.
Don’t forget! Tomorrow night is FACEBOOK LIVE! Are you ready for another fun live stamping event? I will be sharing 3 cards using the CHRISTMAS QUILT bundle but these aren’t Christmas cards. When you join me live we get to interact. You can ask questions, share comments. It’s so much fun to stamp with you guys. You won’t want to miss it but if you can’t make it, not to worry. I will be sharing the REWIND here on Simply Simple Stamping on Friday.

This tip is so very timely. My husband died two months ago and I have been cleaning out his office and have saved several 3-ring binders and perhaps hundreds of page protectors! I had wondered what I would do with all these supplies, and now I know what I can do with some of them! Thank you for the tip! (I also found a box full of transparencies for overhead projectors and I discovered they are heat resistant, so I can heat emboss on them and use for cards – as I would acetate sheets) As always, thank you for your wonderful tips!
You can also use the transparencies to make shaker cards.
Oh Connie, this is a wonderful tip, thank you!!
I keep my dies on magnetic sheets too but they are in one of those shoe boxes that are to store photographs. It’s ok but sometimes, while I’m shifting them to look for what I need, some of the dies come off and I’m always worried I’m going to loose them forever.
This is a much better way to store them, you can add the name of the dies to each page with one of those label makers.
Awesome tip, I will go and get some binders and page protectors ASAP.
Thanks again.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
I’ve used the vent sheets for several years since they are a stronger magnet than the hobby sheets. I cut & place the sheet into S.U. standard DVD cases. I use the chalk marker to write the number of framelets/thinlets in a set on the sheet (some of those rascals seem to jump ship!). A printed label goes on the side and they get stored in a photo box, or next to their corresponding stamp set. Easy to read & see the framelits while flipping through the box. I add the dimentional sheets to the cover of the dvd case too. The 3 ring binder is a nice idea, however I’m a ‘grab & go’ stamper ;). Love your tips (the pencil eraser was the first rubber stamp I owned! haha..need more coffee!!) & your humor!!
another brilliant idea Connie! love how you’re always thinking up practical, inexpensive and easy to do tips for us.
Don’t know why I didn’t think of that, thanks for sharing
I too, have used the vent sheets for quite sometime. A great find. But I found that having them in a binder, after a while; storing many, it get too heavy for me. So, I just cut the vent sheet to fit the lovely plastic envelopes that the dies come in. Then I label them in a larger font (the eyes aren’t as good as they used to be) and file them in a cute basket in Alphabetical order for an easy find. They are on a shelf that is right next to my drafting table, so I don’t have to pick it up like I did when they were in binders. Young arms my handle them better in a binder, but for me, I love the baskets. The DVD cases sound great as well, Jan.
Since seeing this idea in a prior posting I have free binders filled!!!! So far it’s the only thing in my evolving stamp room that IS organized. Have all my IDEA cd shelves put together and ready to hang. Keep those tips coming!
