I had a lot of you ask about our camping trip.  We had a fantastic time except for one thing…. mosquitoes and ticks.  Okay Noah, tell me WHY you felt the need to bring these pesky critters on the ark?  Couldn’t you have just conveniently FORGOTTEN to grab them?  

Laura, a friend of mine, just told me about a product called Thermacell and she swears by it (and the reviews on Amazon were amazing).  I am excited for our next trip to be mosquito-free.  I’ll give you my review in a couple of weeks when we go back.

We got some rain but I have to confess, I LOVE camping in the rain.  I love the sound of the rain while I’m sleeping and hearing it drip off the trees.  We had a deer who would wander through the campsite from time to time but my favorite part was watching a male cardinal try to get the attention of a female.  This show of affection would go on every morning and Mr. Awesome and I would enjoy sitting outside watching these two.  Cardinals are my favorite bird.  Such a bright and vibrant red!

It really was a relaxing trip, the campground was quiet (maybe the mosquitos ate the other campers, I’m not sure) and we all came home feeling like we had a 5-day vacation.  That’s what I love about camping!  You can be gone for 2-½ days and feel like it was 5.
