So sorry for the inconvenience!

2-Minute Tuesday Tips by Connie Stewart - www.SimplySimpleStamping.com Hello my wonderful friends!  It’s Tuesday and I am excited to share with you another 2-Minute Tuesday Tip video.  Today I am going to spend a few minutes (sorry, I really wanted these to be 2-minutes) sharing the ins and out of which black ink to use and when.

Stampin’ Up offers three different black ink pads – Classic Basic Black, Memento Tuxedo Black, and StazOn Jet Black.  Each one serves a different purpose.

Let’s get on with the video on Black Ink Pads…

If you are unable to view the video, CLICK HERE to view it online.

Don’t have all of these ink pads?  Just click on the picture to order the ones you need!

Remember, if you place an order of $20 or more and use the August Hostess Code HTADUWDU you’ll receive the SIX Exclusive videos and tutorials that Josee and I have created for August.  They are a lot of fun so be sure to use that hostess code!  You won’t want to miss out on these!

I hope that you found today’s Tuesday Tip worth a few minutes of your time and that understanding the differences in the black inks available will make choosing your ink pads easier.

And on a personal note…yesterday we took our oldest daughter, Christina, to move into her dorm room at Oklahoma City University.  I love this campus!  It’s actually quite small and it’s one of the oldest Universities in Oklahoma (est 1904).  The great part about a smaller campus?  It takes about 5 minutes to get to any building on campus.

Oklahoma City UniversityI thought Move-In day was going to be really hard for me but it was actually a really fun day!  We super cleaned the room and had a blast setting everything up for her.  She is blessed to have a room that is actually pretty big.  HUGE closets!!!  Today I am going to try to find some artwork (we didn’t think there was going to be this much wall space) and some curtains.  Classes start on the 25th but there is SO much going on at the University this week that she will be SUPER busy.  I got a text from her last night that she was hanging out with some of the other Musical Theater majors and was having a blast.  YAY!!!  Making new friends is the hardest part of college life.

Christina at OCU

I really thought I would be a MESS when I had to leave to say good-bye but you know what?  I was too excited for her to be sad.  She has a wonderful roommate, she made new friends within hours of being there, and now she has all the fun of college life ahead of her.  One thing I love about OCU is that your first two years aren’t just gen-ed classes.  This semester she will be focusing on music theory, piano, dance, and Italian.  Makes me want to go back to college!

Well, if you think about it, say a little prayer for Christina.  If you ever went away for college you know all the anxieties she dealing with.  God’s got His hand on her and He will take good care of her.  Well, NOW I’m starting to cry a little so this is a good time to close.

Have a wonderful day and I will see you back here tomorrow for Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Wednesday!

I love your two minute Tuesday tips! THey are just right to give some info to new and old stampers. I love your stamping anyway and your videos too as they don’t take that long. I like simple also. Keep em coming.

    • Connie says:

So glad you’re enjoying them Jeanne! I plan to keep them up! I have a little list of different things I can teach in 2 (or more) minutes!

  2. Jill says:

You have simply spoiled me for other videos. Your happy, enthusiastic voice and to the point videos teach and encourage in just a few simple steps. The way you handle oops moments lets us all relax and enjoy stamping. Many thanks for sharing your talent.

What a wonderful experience for your daughter and for you too, even if you will miss her terribly. The room looks great, lots of sun light coming in through that window, I’m sure she will have an incredible learning experience. How far is the campus from your home?
Thank you so much for the tips on black inks, I have Memento and Stazon but not the SU Classic Black ink pad. This video was very helpful, thank you for taking the time to make it.
I hope my comment gets to you today. Yesterday I told you about your beautiful frame you did for yourself and about the importance of having a circle of good and dear friends to hang out with but it didn’t get posted. Sometimes I think the problem is on my end.

    • Connie says:

Thanks for the comment Maria! No, your comment posted…I’m just a day behind with all the college stuff going on. Honestly, at this point, I wouldn’t invest in the Classic pad until they figure out what is going wrong with it. It may not be happening to everyone but it has happened to me with several Classic Black ink pads. Only the black, nothing else. Must be something about that ink not liking that foam pad.

  4. Sarah S says:

Absolutely love all your videos. Keep them coming! One question – are the Memento and the Stazon pads supposed to be stored upside down or right side up? I get so confused about that!

    • Connie says:

Excellent question Sarah! I have to tell you, I store them right side up but most times we like to keep the ink at the TOP of the ink pad which means we SHOULD be storing them upside down BUT I just googled it and the StazOn people say right side up (words should face up).

I really appreciate you asking that because I wasn’t sure. Now we have an answer. 🙂

  5. Connie S in California says:

Connie, I’ve always stored my StazOn pads right side up and my Memento pads upside down, so I’m doing something right! (I’ve been using Memento black because of SU! black failure.) Now for my question: What do you know about photopolymer stamps and StazOn? Someone told me they’re a no-go. Is that correct?

    • Connie says:

This is straight from Stampin’ Up:

      Q. What kinds of ink can I use with photopolymer stamps?
      A. Our classic ink in the firm foam pads is the absolute best choice. Versamark and Stazon are also ok. Make sure you clean your stamps promptly after use to avoid any staining or damage.

This was written before we came out with Memento Ink and it is good choice as well.

  6. Lynnette says:

Hi Connie! I sure hope everything is okay. You haven’t posted for quite a while…as I check daily for inspiration from your blog. Praying that you and yours are ok.

    • Connie says:

Lynnette, hmmm, it sounds like there is a problem somewhere. I post every day Monday through Friday. You might want to go back and re-register your email address to make sure you’re getting my updates. 🙂

    • Debbie says:

Just curious, Lynnette … what are using for reading Connie’s blog? I am an Apple user, iMac, using Safari, all updates current. I also have same issue on my iPad, which I could understand since it is so old, the original iPad. It’s just so strange since this is the only blog that this has happened with.

      • Connie says:

It gets weirder because I am a MAC user and I use Safari. WHY, INTERNET, WHY MUST YOU MESS WITH US????

        • Debbie says:

I hit HOME and it showed me new stuff. Still makes no sense. But I have always said these things have a mind of their own.

          • Connie says:

You got that right! And their minds are WARPED sometimes! So glad you can get caught up now. Let me know if it continues to take you back from here on out. I would be curious to know.

  7. Debbie says:

I have not seen anything new either, since Aug 19 … I am not “registered” but have always been able to see your posts before. I visit your blog daily and nothing new has been posted. Is this new that I need to “register” to read your blog now? Just curious too.

    • Connie says:

Debbie, no you don’t have to register. You can just log into my website each day but I have no clue why you haven’t seen posts since August 19. How weird is that? I post daily. Why on earth would you not see it. Ugh. Technology is SO frustrating! You might make sure that when you’re logging in you’re not automatically being taken to the August 19th post.

Ladies I am so sorry this is happening but I just have no idea why or how to fix it.

You might try registering at the top of the page. Just enter your email address and you’ll get daily updates. I don’t sell your name (in fact, I don’t even know where to find your email on here) so you’re safe.

      • Debbie says:

I had checked already but just did again … just your address in bar nothing about the Tuesday Tip at all, just simplysimplestamping.com, even typed as well as used a link in my Bookmarks. I was just hoping nothing tragic had happened with daughter moving, then Founder’s Circle and assumed you were busy going there, etc. Because you do post so regularly you are on my ‘daily’ list of blogs to visit. So you have received comments on days past Aug 19th? Because I can only see comments from Aug 19, nothing newer, hence why I thought you had not posted. Technology is great only when it works!

        • Connie says:

Yes, I get comments daily. Have you tried clearing your cookies? Sometimes those lock things up.

Not a great solution but it’s all I can think of.

          • Debbie says:

This is so bizarre. I clear my cookies, etc. regularly, just did it now and no change, still Aug 19 only showing. Must be an issue unknown at the time. Maybe someday the technology will catch up and fix itself.

  8. denise says:

I have an old iPad and an old IMac. I don’t have any problem seeing current posts. I just scroll down on the left side of the site until i see the pink box that says “Recent Posts”. Click on whatever you want to see and it takes you there. You do have to scroll down aways — below the sweet family picture and the watch Video Tutorials. Hope that works for you — there is a lot of great stuff since August!

  9. Mary Lee says:

Connie, I, too have been visiting your blog and the home page is still on the “which black ink to use” Tuesday.

    • Connie says:

I will see if there is anything I can do. I am clueless as to why this is happening because it’s not happening to everyone. For now, may I recommend that you go to the Archives (at the bottom on the left sidebar) and check the recent posts this way? I will continue to Google the problem but so far I haven’t been able to figure out what is going on.
