Making cards for my hubby, Rich, is always hard for me. I am just drawn to bright images, flowers or swirls… not very masculine. And since Rich doesn’t golf, hunt, or fix up old cars, there weren’t a lot of stamps I could work with.
Autumn Accents Bigz die to my rescue!
Rich was just saying yesterday how much he loves the Fall and the cooler temperatures so I thought I would create a card for him today to brighten his day. It’s the last day of his fiscal year and it is SO stressful. I knew a card would make him smile.
Tomorrow I will be sharing a video on how to create today’s card. I have a few fun tips and tricks to share with you so be sure to tune in!
WHAT I DID ON MY FALL BREAK
I thought I would also share with you a few pictures of what I was up to while I was on vacation. Oh wow, how many of you stopped reading when you saw I was going to share vacation photos! lol
Rich, myself, and our best friends the Paulsens, spent 4 days hiking at Zion National Park… the most beautiful place in the world! The weather was hot but not unbearable and on Day 2 ,we were ready to take on the grand daddy of hikes – Angels Landing. 1,500 feet of climbing in altitude that I wasn’t used to. I’m not ashamed to say that about a quarter of the way up, I was in tears. I wanted to finish the milestone SO badly but I was really struggling for air. I finally hit a point where by body decided that I wasn’t giving in and so it decided to cooperate with me.
There are 2 landings on Angels Landing. The first milestone was to make it to the top of the switchbacks. Done. Then you have to look straight ahead to see what comes next… this mountain that goes STRAIGHT up and wow, STRAIGHT down, if you’re not careful.
You can see the chains that you use to hoist yourself up that bad boy! It was scary and exhilarating all at the same time. It was one of those bucket lists things and I knew I had to make it to the top. The good news? We did!
Being silly and striking my “super hero” pose (I’m sure it was the lack of oxygen) but check out that view! AHHH-MAZING!
What a great way to celebrate Rich’s birthday and one we won’t forget anytime soon!
Will I do this hike again? Absolutely! Tomorrow? No. 🙂 Let my aches and pains heal first.
