I mentioned that Saturday was our annual Oklahoma Stampin’ Up Demonstrators Christmas Gathering. One of the things we always do is bring a wrapped handmade Stampin’ Up gift and we play Dirty Santa (if you’re not familiar with Dirty Santa, google it. It’s a blast!)
I thought you all might like to see some of the great gifts that my demonstrator friends created. I don’t have the space to show them all but here are some of my personal favorites.
First let me start with some gorgeous framed artwork!
What a great way to use the November Paper Pumpkin kit! It’s stunning!
Love the layers on this piece of art and the gold on the sleigh!
Wowza! This sampler just blew me away. The gold window sheets made this just shine!
Here’s another framed shadow box using the Santa’s Sleigh framelits but she also used Christmas Magic set as well. It reminds me of “Polar Express”.
Sorry for the glare from the camera but isn’t this just beautiful! Embellished Ornaments layers on Gold Glimmer paper. LOVE!
Check out these amazing ornaments! So cool! They were huge too. Absolutely gorgeous!
When I play Dirty Santa, I play dirty (bwahahaha). I see a gift and I snag it when I can. I saw this beautiful swag and claimed it as MINE. The first photo looks washed out for some reason but next two show its real beauty.
The Home Sweet Home bundle is just amazing, isn’t it? Who knew you could create something so adorable with those little houses.
And a few of those Cookie Cutter Christmas Gingerbread people just added to the whimsy!
This was another favorite. Love this wreath made with the Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper. There is that Cookie Cutter punch again and what a clever idea to make them look like paper dolls!
I hope you enjoyed these great works of art created by my friends! It was such a fun get-together and we had a wonderful time sharing what we love most – stamping.
The high school called me yesterday letting me know I needed to pick up Ginny immediately. She caught the dreaded stomach bug that is going around. Bless her heart, I hate it when my kids are sick, but when they have a stomach virus, it’s even more heartbreaking. And when I say she “caught” the bug, I mean she truly embraced it. Yuck. So car shopping came to a stop for the night.
I have a new Now or WOW Christmas card that I think you’re going to love. If things go well with Ginny today and we don’t have to head to the doctor, I hope to have the video for you tomorrow. 🙂
(Oh, I pray that I stay well. I am NOT a good patient when I have a stomach bug.)
Use the DECEMBER HOST CODE PS9QZJU3 on your order of $20 or more and receive a SPARKLY gift* in your Thank You card! Just my way of saying THANK YOU for using the Host Code!
Remember, if your order is over $150, don’t use the code and earn Stampin’ Rewards (starting at $15 in free product) PLUS you’ll receive some SPARKLE as well!
You can use this technique on tee shirts, holiday aprons, tea towels, anything really! Any of these things would make a great hostess gift. It’s so personal and special.
Avery Iron-On Tee Shirt Transfers are available at office supply stores or discount stores in the same area you would find printing labels.
Machine wash and tumble dry
Customize to say anything you want to make it even more personal
Wrap up a set of four napkins with Designer Series Paper and your gift is presented beautifully
Tips to remember:
You can use any computer software to print text but remember YOU HAVE TO MIRROR or REVERSE THE IMAGE!
Iron all the wrinkles out of the fabric and the pillow case that you’re working on.
Drain all the water from your iron because you don’t want any steam.
Pre-heat your iron to the highest setting possible.
Place a board or something hard underneath your pillowcase when you iron it. I melted the varnish off my dining room table many years ago doing this technique so protect your work surface!
Move the iron constantly so you don’t scorch the fabric.
I hope that you will give these a try. I make them every year and everyone who receives them just loves them. Who doesn’t love personalized Christmas napkins?
Well, my friends, I have some stamping to do. I have a lot of thank you cards to mail out. It seems you guys LOVED our Year-End Clearance Sale and I am looking forward to sending each of you a hand stamped card to show my appreciation. Friendly reminder: If you created your account and checked the box asking not to be contacted, I am not allowed to send you a card. This makes me sad but I respect your wishes. Let me take this time to say to each of you, THANK YOU so much for your support and for your orders! I truly appreciate you!!!
Happy October! I am excited to share with you some fabulous fall creations from all over the world. The first day of the month is always YOU CAN CREATE IT INTERNATIONAL – a share that I do with demonstrators from Germany, Canada, Netherlands, and everywhere in between.
Here’s how it works…. we are given a set of supplies and the challenge is to create a project using these supplies. We can add a card base or something else but I really like to work with the supplies and not add anything. It’s really fun to see what I can create using just the supplies given.
For October, we were challenged to use:
10″ Burlap ribbon
39″ Gold Thread
Leaves from the Leaflet Framelits – 2 each in Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, and Mossy Meadow.
I saw this yummy cupcake at the grocery store yesterday and those sprinkles were calling my name. Look at those pretty colors! I knew I could use it with the leaves for this challenge. Besides, HELLO! It’s a CUPCAKE! I could do just about anything with a cupcake and make it look good! It’s a CUPCAKE!
I used the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set on the cut leaves (one of my new favorites). Just a touch here and there with a white gel pen and I have some super cute leaves!
I had to manipulate the burlap but it was easy to do. I just trimmed about 1 ½” off, trimmed off the stitching on the side, and wrapped it around the center. Cute, huh? I just realized as I am looking at my photos, I FORGOT TO ADD THE GOLD THREAD! What a dingbat I am! Oh well, it would have looked amazing but I already gave the cupcake away. I had to… I would have devoured that luscious cupcake if I didn’t give it away right away.
Let me share some creations from some of my Stampin’ Up demonstrator friends from overseas…
Heike Fallwickl’s creation
Claudia Bugl’s creation
Caroline van der Straaten’s creation
Teri Pocock’s creation
Marine Wiplier’s creation
Jackie Bultje’s creation
Renée Eckhardt’s creation
Inge Groot’s creation
Emilie Veyssilier’s creation
Monica Gale’s creation
Anja Luft’s creation
I hope you enjoyed the creations today. SUCH talented ladies! I love being a part of this challenge each month and I hope you have found inspiration and joy from their creations.
Guys, I love the Leaflet framelits SO much and I am SO glad I made the investment! You won’t be disappointed if you add these to your wish list. You can order them separately but if you order the Vintage Leaves you can save 15% on the bundle. I just love that the framelits match TWO different stamp sets. You get more for your money that way!
The first of the month means a brand new “LET’S GET CREATIVE” exclusive video & tutorial. I have to say, this project looks SO amazing in person. Some projects just look better in person, no matter how hard I try to capture it on camera. And guess what? This month’s project just so happens to USE the Leaflet framelits and one of the matching stamp sets! Did I plan it this way? Oh heavens no, I’m not talented enough to think that far in advance. It’s just the way the leaves fell, I guess.
Oh wait! I have to tell you the BEST part of this month’s project. It’s HOT GLUE GUN FREE! Yes, you read that right! Not a drop of hot glue was needed, where most wreaths you do. In fact, I didn’t use any adhesive at all. Intrigued? Hmm, and what is the wreath made of? Well, you’ll just have to order to find out. Use Host Code 2JCNKVCJ on your order of $20 or more in my ONLINE STORE
Remember, if you order over $150, don’t use the code so you can take advantage of Stampin’ Rewards! Rewards start at $15 in free Stampin’ Up product! What’s not to love about that?
Are you a Stampin’ Up demonstrator or live outside the USA? You can order this month’s video & tutorial for only $8.00
Well my friends, that about wraps it up for me today! I hope you have a wonderful kick off to the month of October! See you all tomorrow for the Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge!
What a great weekend I had! How about you? I spent A LOT of time stamping this weekend. First, I designed September’s “Let’s Get Creative” project and guys, this one is SO gorgeous! I can’t even being to tell you how much you are going to LOVE this project! Wait until you see the inside. Stay tuned! All will be revealed September 1st.
I also stamped 110 cards for my upcoming Stampin’ Up trip to St. George, Utah. I was blessed to rank in the Top 100 Demonstrators for 2014-2015 (#7 – wahoo!!!).
One of the reasons we strive to make the Top 100 is because we are rewarded with a trip called Founder’s Circle. Spending 5 days with these amazing demonstrators is one of the highlights of my year. I just love sharing ideas, getting to know each other better, and of course, swapping card idea.
I was busy busy busy creating my cards for the event. Unfortunately I can’t show it off just yet. Sorry! I promise… After my trip I will share the card and let just say, it’s a super cute Christmas Flash Card!
110 cards later and I am happy to be DONE and I can shelf this stamp set for just a little while. Not that I don’t LOVE it but that was a lot of stamping of the SAME card over and over.
Oh, and I thought you might like to see the “Congrats” card that the Stampin’ Up home office artist made for us. Isn’t it stunning? You can barely see the new silver thread on the butterfly. This is a new product that will be available September 1st. It’s very soft looking but really strong too.
I did have another project I wanted to share with you. This one I created with Christina earlier and I never had a chance to share it with you.
This year, Christina was chosen to be a Residents Assistant in her new dorm. This was SUCH a blessing for us… and for Christina. For us because it means FREE HOUSING! Yay!!! For Christina because she gets her own room, her own bathroom, and her own living room. Isn’t that great?
She saw this idea on Pinterest and wanted to create her own version of it. This sign will go on her metal front door of her room.
See that star? It’s a heavy-duty magnet so that she can just move it around to let residents know when she’s available. Brilliant, right? I love how it turned out!
And here she is…. first day of class is today! My daughter begins her first day as a Sophomore in college at Oklahoma City University. I’m so proud of her. She changed her major this semester too. Take a gander at my Theatre Education major! She’s going to make an amazing Drama/Speech/Debate teacher one day. I am so glad you could join me today. Now that I have some of my “stamping obligations” done and out of the way, I hope to create some videos for you this week. I have some Flash Card ideas that I really want to share so I am going to close for now so I can get busy.
Have a wonderful Monday my sweet peeps! See you tomorrow for a 2-Minute Tuesday Tip video!
Have you seen the Simply Created Build a Bouquet on the cover of the Occasions catalog? If so, let me ask you… were you excited by it or terrified? Me? Well, I was both. I have been blessed to have my very best friend in the whole wide room visiting this week and we decided we were going to tackle this beast. I had been hearing rumblings that it was hard, frustrating, etc. but with Brenda by my side, I knew it would be fun no matter what. Hey, I was right! It was fun! I must say, Bren is listening WAY to close to what I say… and that isn’t always a good thing. I don’t tend to follow directions well. Any good project needs a Sonic run! Thanks to Mr. Awesome who NOT ONLY got us Sonic beverages but made us an incredible dinner so we could create.
I can’t tell you how proud I was of my first few flowers!I won’t lie….10 hours later, my bouquet was done. Now, before you rule out making one yourself, let me share my experience. Yes, it took awhile but the final product was worth it! SO pretty! This is not a ‘quickie’ and it’s not something you make in one sitting but it is something you will enjoy. Just take an evening to make up one set of the flowers, maybe two. Another day, make up another set. More than anything, I want to recommend you make it with a friend. Brenda and I had SO much fun and we helped each other along. We laughed a lot (and threw the floral tape across the room. Man, I hate that stuff.)
In the end, my final bouquet tired out AHHHHMAZING! Which is just what I needed because the snow is blowing like crazy today. Brenda and I learned A LOT of things as we created this bouquet. We are going to work on a tutorial to share with you what we learned. Tips to make the project go together easier and faster. We want you to learn from our mistakes. You’re welcome.
Hmm, are you dying to make one or are you still a little nervous? Give it a try! Invite a friend over, have LOTS of coffee ready, and give it a go! Here’s a list of what we used on our bouquet. If you don’t have the Build A Bouquet stamp set, you can use Gorgeous Grunge too!
I hope you’ll give this beautiful bouquet a try. It is TRULY amazing! And hey, right now you can earn Sale-a-Bration freebies with your order of $50 or more (before tax/ship). Sweet!
I have just a couple more days with Brenda here so we’re going to get back to crafting. If it’s a little quiet on the blog, just know that I am busy busy busy creating fabulous stuff to share with you later in the week. Oh! And guess what?! We have designed the most coolest project EVAH for the March “Let’s Get Creative” tutorial. It’s my favorite one yet! I can’t wait for March 1st to share it with you.
On Friday I mentioned how tired I am of the cold, the snow, and the gray skies. I am just READY for spring!!! Let me shout that a little louder…. I’M READY FOR SPRING!!!!
Ginny had a Choir Concert Fundraiser/Dinner/Bake Sale/Silent Auction for her New York City trip this summer on Friday night. I wanted to contribute something to the silent auction and since I was in the mood for paper flowers, I used Stampin’ Up’s Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath kit (now retired). I’m actually kicking myself for not making this last spring but I put it in my closet and…well… out of sight out of mind. OH how I wish I had made it sooner! It’s so pretty! I dolled it up a little more by adding the SPRING banner and some sequins (it needed bling, of course!)
Since this kit is no longer available, you might consider the Build a Bouquet Project Kit or the Bouquet Bigz die? Isn’t this beautiful?! I have mine and I’m just trying to carve out the time to sit down and create it. It’s going to look amazing in my house! Everything comes in the Build A Bouquet Project kit except a hot glue gun (the stamp set is optional). You probably recognize this beautiful bouquet of paper flowers from the cover of the Occasions Catalog. I will warn you. This is not a ‘quickie’ project. You won’t have it done in an hour or anything so just relax and enjoy the therapy that paper crafting brings.
Another great product to create flowers is the Bouquet Bigz die. You can custom make flowers so easily! I am actually quite pleased with the die. This is what my first flower looks like. It’s HUGE (bigger than my hand)! I tested my skills on some retired Designer Paper first but now that I have the hang of it, I can wait to dive into some Designer Paper that matches my decor! I love the Bouquet kit but I do like the idea of creating the flowers I want, in the colors I want. Let me share a video, created by Stampin’ Up, using this fabulous die. These paper flowers are just too beautiful not to create yourself!
Here is a list of the things you would need to create the Build a Bouquet. As I said, the stamp set is optional. The cool part is that you can use the stamp set with the Bouquet Bigz die too! Getting more for your money!
I also mentioned on Friday that my girls and I were going to audition for our community theatre’s production of “Brighton Beach Memoirs”. Weeelllll, things didn’t go as planned on Sunday SO we are going to auditions tonight instead. lol Thank heavens they are doing it over 2 nights. So, wish us “Break a Leg” and we’ll see how things go tonight.
Hope you all have a wonderful Monday! I am off to work on a 2-Minute Tuesday Tip video for you so be sure to come back tomorrow!
