Hey everyone!  Well, I’m in Salt Lake City and the Stampin’ Up Convention starts in about an hour.  I’m so excited!!!  I will try to post updates as I can.  I know you’re excited to see and hear about all the new and exciting things happening in the paper crafting world.  Me too!!!

Since I am not in my studio I thought I would share with you a fun FLASHBACK THURSDAY video and get you in the Christmas spirit!  Is it EVER too early to start on Christmas projects?  I guess not since CHRISTMAS IN JULY is kind of a big deal.

Today I want to share a project that I shared last year but BOY was it a hit!  I sold them at a craft show and sold out immediately!

Cocoa To Go - Recipe for Gourmet Hot Cocoa mix that will blow your mind! Get the recipe at www.SimplySimpleStamping.comThese gourmet hot cocoa cups were just the perfect gift for teachers, co-workers, or neighbors.  Now, I don’t recommend you mix up the hot chocolate in July but hmmm, it sure would be nice to have the cups and saucers made up and ready to go, wouldn’t it?  Well, you’re in luck!  For a limited time, the Festive Flurry bundle is available.  It won’t last long so get it while you can.  It’s a BEAUTIFUL stamp set and snowflake framelit bundle that you will just love.  The Designer Paper I used is no longer available but you might consider the Color Collection stacks.  Those would work great!

Now for the yummy part… here is the recipe for the gourmet hot cocoa mix.

CONNIE’S GOURMET HOT COCOA

  • (1) can*  of store brand Hot Cocoa Mix (don’t buy the good stuff)
  • (1) small box of Chocolate or Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding Mix

Pour the hot cocoa mix into a large bowl.  Add the pudding and mix well.  The pudding just slightly thickens the hot cocoa and brings out more chocolate flavor.  Measure according to the directions on hot cocoa can.

CHOCOLATE-COVERED CHERRY HOT COCOA

  • (1) can* of store brand Hot Cocoa Mix (don’t buy the good stuff)
  • (1) small box of Chocolate or Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding Mix
  • (1) packet Cherry Kool-Aid
  • 1/2 cup sugar

In a large bowl, mix the sugar, Kool-Aid, and pudding; mix well.  Add the can of hot cocoa mix and mix again.  Measure according to the directions on hot cocoa can.  You can use any flavor of Kool-Aid – Orange and Strawberry are good too!  If you want more “cherry” flavor, double the sugar and use 2 packages of Kool-Aid.

* The can sizes can be different but most stores carry their own brand of cocoa.  I would guess it’s about a 16-20 oz. can.  Don’t stress over the size of the can.  Just add the other ingredients and you’re good to go.

The best part about this cocoa is that you can make a big batch for under $3.00 and trust me when I tell you… your friends will think this is Godiva Hot cocoa!  It’s that rich and that good!

Oh and on another note… I tried this with Swiss Miss No Sugar Added?  Fabulous!  You can use sugar-free pudding too!

Yap yap yap… I think we need to get going with the video!

I hope you guys like today’s FLASHBACK THURSDAY and maybe I got you thinking ahead about some holiday gifts this year.  Don’t limit yourself with snowflakes.  SO many opportunities to decorate these.  OH OH OH!  I just had a thought!  What if you got those cute drink carriers and put these cups inside?  Oooh, cute factor just went up to an ELEVEN!

Well, I am off to Stampin’ Up nirvana!  Hope you guys have a wonderful Thursday and I will be back to post updates as soon as I can!  Wahoo!!!!  Let the party begin!!!
