Craft Room Horror!

Craft Room HorrorThat’s it!  I can’t take it any more!  I have a thousand and one projects going at the same time and my stamp room is a disaster!  I had planned on creating today so I could get another video made but guys… just look at what I am dealing with.

My space is a disaster!  I can’t work any more.  I don’t even have a work surface at the moment.  I think today needs to be dedicated to tidying up, don’t you think?

So, today will be dedicated to making my stamp room USABLE again…well, after another cup of coffee and Dr. Phil.  LOL

Before I run off to clean (and yes, I am looking for reasons NOT to clean) I want to thank everyone for the OVERWHELMING support you have poured out to Ginny and her choir fundraiser.  WOW!  You guys blew us away!  I spent all day yesterday working on getting your Flash Card books packaged up.  Oh, and get this… I SOLD OUT OF THEM!  Isn’t that great?!  Not to worry, I have already ordered more but I did want to let you know that if you ordered yesterday, you might see a little delay in getting yours.  It should only be about a week or so.  I never expected to sell out but Ginny is BEYOND thrilled!  You guys are the best!!!!

Well, I could sit here and type all day waiting for the Craft Room Cleaning Fairy to show up.  Or…..
Instead of cleaning the house, I just turn off the lightsHi Ho, Hi Ho, it’s off to clean I go!  Have a great day everyone!  I hope to see you tomorrow….unless I go missing in which case, tell Mr. Awesome I am probably buried somewhere under a heap of cardstock scraps.

Ha, Ha I went to check my e-mails instead of cleaning off my work area and read this, too funny. OK you have inspired me to get to it. Went to a workshop last weekend and met the inventor of “Ribbon roll control”. She is my sister’s up-line and a really talented woman. Check out http://www.ribbonrollcontrol.com. Fits right in with organizing. Thanks for all your tips, Mary

Oh Connie, I hate to tell you but when I tried to make an appointment with the cleaning fairy I learned she/he has retired! I’m now trying to find whether there is a Mr. Clean who specializes in craft rooms and who makes house calls. I’ll be sure to let you know

I finally feel normal and not just disorganized!

  23. Maria Rodriguez. says:

Oh Connie, I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one with a messy craft room, every time I clean it up, it doesn’t last long because I’m always, always doing something. And I too sometimes spill the mess onto my kitchen table because I like to watch Dr. Phil while I work. I think that messy craft rooms speak volumes about the owners, if your craft room is immaculate, I think you are not being very creative. So, HURRAY!!! for the little mess in our creative space, I have a plaque that I bought at a craft fair that says in big letters “BLESS THIS MESS”, each one of us should have one like this hanging on our craft room walls.
Now, don’t stress to much cleaning up my dear, it might not last long at all.
    Hugs.

I’m same boat girlfriend. I started yesterday and will finish up this morning. Then I can start on Christmas cards. For some reason I can not start a new project until my studio is clean and tidy….it gets messy again but it has to be clean before I can start. Crazy but it works for me. Have fun….it will be worth it.

  25. Beverly Main says:

My room has been so bad I’ve had to move to the dining room to stamp cards. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one in this boat! After you get finished if you have any great organizational tips, man I’d love some. Thanks for your motivation that’s my goal today to

  26. Paula Feasel says:

I feel your pain. My room is the same right now. I walk in get on the computer, look at the mess and leave again. Note…Rome wasn’t built in a day or cleaned in one either.

  27. Dolores Shuster says:

This is to funny. My room looked like this and I have been stuck at home for 3 days because it’s been bellow zero here in Denver, so best time to clean, organize and punch scraps. Lol

  28. artlvr says:

Been there honey……..I know the feelin, but it has to be done at some time or another!!! Make it fun….you may find something you have been looking for!!

  29. Lynn Klitzke says:

That is too funny, what you posted. I clean up every time I’m finished with a project and don’t start another one until it’s finished. Have fun!! ☺

  30. Bonnie Smith says:

Love it. Now lets see how it looks after you’ve cleaned up. I understand how
easily neat and tidy can suddenly become a nightmare. Love your sense of
    humor.

  31. Mary Alice Bellis says:

I hear ya, Connie. My craft room is a mess. It is craft sale season and every moment I have is dedicated to making things, not cleaning up. However, last week I lost 2 stamps, one small polymer and the other the size of a nickel. I spent so much time searching for them I could have wasted a day. Gave up and went to bed and the next day I said another prayer that I would find them. I kept thinking they had to be stuck to something I had used, and sure enough, when I was putting a punch away they must have been attached and fell behind my pencil/scissor caddy where I could not see them. Taught me a lesson that I can’t leave things pile up too much, because I can’t afford the time for another archeological dig.

  32. Diane McLean says:

Oh, Connie! Take heart. This is what my craft studio (has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?), usually looks like. I agree that it is more conducive to create in an organized environment, but it is possible even in this kind of space. I do it all the time. Maybe I’ll follow suit, and we’ll both feel better. Good luck!!

  33. cindy rhodes says:

Never let pics of my craftroom go public, but I did send a pic of my horror to my son at one time. He said,”Mother, you are grounded.”

  34. laura says:

went to a stamping retreat a month ago and STILL haven’t put things away!!! the plan was to put them away in a MORE organized fashion and instead i’m procrastinating. can’t find anything. bits and parts of projects begun and interrupted— all of the respective pieces loose, cut, and now scattered!! don’t remember what they are for . . .

thanks for sharing your struggle, connie. it’s a struggle we all face.

  35. Wow Connie just like minehttps://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=360693744095667&id=100004651334763

  36. Shirley Kramer says:

Gee Connie….looks just like my room…I forgot it was a mess ….now I’ll have to go clean it….I know exactly where everything is though.,,,,,,Shirley K

  37. bettyjo2012 says:

My motto has always been that a CLEAN desk is the sign of a sick mind. Hence the messiness of my craft room and craft desk. You do, however seem way too intelligent than to waste time watching Dr. Phil. Love all of your videos and I have learned so much from them. Thanks so much for sharing them. 🙂

  38. Lindsey F says:

    Hey, Connie,
There is no way I could clean up in a day. It will take a week at least. I never have enough flat work space.
When I finally get “organized”, I can’t remember where I put things and have to tear the place apart again. I’m hoping your flash card organization box is going improve things once I can move around in the room again!

  39. Jill Lech says:

Wow, It appears that you experienced “Craftermath” : the debris and destruction resulting from an explosion of creativity. Happens to the best of us. 🙂

  40. Mary Ann Huntington says:

Oh how wonderful, your counter looks just like mine. Thank you for showing us you aren’t perfect!

  41. Mike Bizup says:

Yep’ I knew you were like so many of us stampers…Creative minds and messy areas go together. I just open a beer, and keep at it. Only clean when I’m all done.

  42. Kitty Collier says:

Connie I can relate. I have to have a cleaning from time to time for the same reason. I have so many projects going that I run out of space to work.

  43. Judy says:

Thanks for sharing I needed to see that so I that I might just have better results in the coming days. Never to late to be neat.

  44. Cherub38 says:

Thanks for the laugh and for letting me know I’m not alone in the messy department! You are so sweet to share with all of us. We are ever so grateful for your tips and wish you the best always!
