FLASH CARD Storage & Organization Video

Flash Card Organization

One of the most common questions I get from those of you who watch the Flash Card series is how on earth do I organize all those pieces of card stock?  Here is my drawer that I keep them in but in today’s video I am going to show you how to keep each color family organized and happy.  Now, you may not necessarily want them all in a drawer but in a plastic shoebox.  I hope today’s video will help you start the new year off with a great way to keep yourself organized when making cards in a FLASH!

Here is what you will need to make the FLASH CARD storage boxes:

Begin with a 8″ x 7 3/4″ piece of cardstock (1 sheet will make a box for the Original Flash Cards & Flash Cards 2.0)

Cut to 3 1/2″ x 7 3/4″

Cut the remaining piece to 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ (basically you will just be cutting off 1/4″ off one side)

Score the 3 1/2″ x 7 3/4″ at 1″ on all 4 sides.

Score the 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ at 1 1/2″ on all 4 sides.

Cut along (1) score line on the 4 corners – only cut on the squares!  Miter these squares.

With a bone folder, crease all the scored lines.

Place Sticky Strip on the mitered tabs that you created.  It should be placed right along the scored line.  Peel off backing and line up the ends.

Repeat with the other box.

Place you cut pieces of Flash Card in the box and organize them in a drawer or plastic shoe box.

These boxes will hold 80 pieces of Flash Card (remember you can cut 8 Flash Cards from 1 sheet of card stock so 10 in a color family will yield 80 Flash Cards).

Now, make a box for all 5 color family AND 1 box for all your cut White/Vanilla pieces.

If you love the FLASH CARD concept but aren’t thrilled with the idea of all that cutting, why not order FLASH CARD KITS TO GO?!  Everything you need to create 40 Flash Cards AND Flash Cards 2.0 in one convenient kit (including the envelopes)!  Click on the FLASH CARD KIT button on the right and receive FREE SHIPPING!

I just want to say thank you for sharing this brilliant idea! I love how you make every card look so different even though you start with such basic pieces. But I wondered if you ever use DSP? and how would you incorporate it in? Your cards are beautiful!
