I’m BACK!

Whew!  Well, the play is over!  It was a bittersweet ending.  I was excited to get back to life as normal yet it was so much fun I’m sad it’s over.  I had the most AMAZING time ever!  Standing ovations every night (squeal!), time with my oh so talented daughter, Christina, and friendships that I will have for a lifetime.

Steel Magnolias Cast & Crew - Shawnee Little Theatre, February 2014Here is the final photo that we took after we took down the set on Sunday.  That stage looks so sad.

On top, Christina Stewart (Shelby), me (Truvy), Katie Wright (Annelle), Kate Blaine (Ouiser), Kathryn Hayes (M’Lynn), Tami Lawson (Clairee) and our fabulous director, KC Goldsby, in the center.

The bottom picture is our incredible crew who made us look awesome every night.  We couldn’t have done it without them!

Well, there isn’t much time to relax now that the show is over because all this week I am teaching my local stamp classes.  If you have placed an order this month and used the hostess code, you are able to create the same projects I am teaching this week.  7 cards made from just a few strips of cardstock!  They are so much fun!

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild February 2014 - get your FREE Tutorial for this month with any $20 or more order using Hostess Code JMH2GJWG at www.SimplySimpleStamping.comI did have some time this morning to create a project that I have been DYING to create for awhile.  Maybe you’ve seen these?

This is actually a CARD!  Yes!  A CARD!  But WHAT a card it is!  I thought it would be really difficult to create but you know, it wasn’t as hard as I thought.  It had its moments but once I figured it out, it became pretty easy.

Notice how it goes flat?  That’s how you mail it.  Look!  It even fits in one of Stampin’ Up’s Medium size envelopes!

My hope is to teach this as part of my March Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild… and that’s just a couple weeks away.  This gives me time to see if I can simplify the project a little bit.  You know me?  I’m all about SIMPLICITY!  I was this project to be easy, quick and FUN for you to create!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who placed orders this month!  I appreciate you all SO much!  I also want to thank all of you for your patience during the play.  It really meant a lot to me to do this show with Christina.  I know it took some of my time away from you and I appreciate you all sticking with me over the past month.  I’M BACK though and have lots of ideas that I can’t wait to share with you!

Speaking of ordering, check out this week’s WEEKLY DEALS!  Fantastic!  I will try to get to work on a project or two created using some of these great Stampin’ Up products!

Connie, so happy that you had the opportunity to perform with your daughter and enjoy one of your many talents. I am REALLY excited to see the tutorial for the Card in a Box! Also…did I miss the FINAL photos of your new craft room?

    • Connie says:

Thanks Donna! And no, you didn’t miss the final pictures of the stamp room. We still have some work to do. We got as much done as we could over the holiday and now just have to wait for Mr. Awesome to get some free time to finish up. He is hoping to take some time off in March to finish. You know how it is… you don’t want to share final pictures that aren’t final. 🙂

Welcome back and glad you had such an awesome time! I sure hope you share the instructions since I live too far and can’t come to class!!! :o) that box of flowers card is so adorable!

    • Connie says:

Lucy, this is going to be one of my March Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild projects so it will be available on March 1st with any $20 order. 🙂

  3. Jane Rozes says:

When do you plan to post the tutorial for this awesome card? I’m dying to learn how to do it!!

    • Connie says:

So glad you like it Jane! I will be making a video tutorial for this project as part of Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild for March.

Oh Connie, performing with your daughter must have been a blast, how wonderful that you both had the chance to enjoy each other doing one of your many talents!! I’ve seen this box/cards and I think they are beautiful but, if you can simplify the process, all the better.
We are all looking forward to seeing your completed crafting paradise so, hopefully your dear hubby will find some spare time to get it done. I bet you are anxious to see it in all its glory.
