More Glass Etching

I found these square dinner plates at Garden Ridge ($1.99) and thought the Tulipe die would be beautiful etched on the bottom of it. I am so pleased with how it came out! I am learning a few things about glass etching (like I need to be more generous with the etching cream and I need to brush it on smooth rather than pounce it on). I used the Decor Elements vinyl sheets to do this but here’s a tip: USE THE TRANSFER PAPER!!! I had a heck of a time getting this on the glass and I really should have used the transfer paper. It would have been so much easier!

I would love to make a set of these for my dining room! Wouldn’t they make a cool wedding gift? And since the glass is etched, it’s dishwasher safe. Just think about it! You could make plates, glasses, bowls, everything! It’s so fast to create too!

  1. Thanks for the helpful tips Connie. Always nice to learn from someone else’s experience before going on to make one’s own mistakes 😀

And now that I’ve discovered the Dollar stores in my new town I’ll have to give this a try.

Now to find some etching creme…hmm…gotta find the Craft Warehouse or whatever.

Hugs from a sister demo – Jean
