OCU Notebook for Christina

Yesterday I mentioned that I am now the proud owner of a Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutter (E-Cutter).

Although anything that has to do with technology scares the bee-gee-bees out of me, I tackled the Cameo head on!  I failed miserably several times but then I was able to cut out a cute little frame.  I was so proud!  I almost pulled out my Big Shot and Banner Framelits to make myself a WINNER badge (‘cuz I’m comfortable with the Big Shot and Framelits).

After a few more practices, I cut out some letters and a saying using Stampin’ Up cardstock and Foil Sheets in silver.  Check it out!

I thought it would be fun to use this machine to make some other OCU stuff for her.  You can cut vinyl, fabric, etc.  Pretty much the same thing the Big Shot will do but now I can cut anything from My Digital Studio (Stampin’ Up’s digital software).  Wahoo!  The options are limitless!

Well, there is still that learning curve thing.  I am working through it.  My mind is just racing of things I can make for her and her roomie (whoever that might be).

Now, not to worry… Simply Simple Stamping is NOT going to become an E-Cutter website.  Oh no no no.  I am still all about stamping!  Today I had some fun with the Happy Watercolor stamp set.  This is the quickest card I’ve done in a long time.  So pretty, don’t you think?!

Well Connie, I must say that I’m very happy you will still be a stamper and will continue to amaze us with your creativity and talent in that department. The technical stuff is not something I understand easily so I much prefer a punch or a die or my trusty paper snipping scissors to cut images for my cards.
I love this cards you made and I’m looking forward to the video tomorrow.
What a fabulous note book for your daughter, I bet she will be bragging on campus that her mom made it for her so you might get some more practice with the Ecutter making a few of this notebooks for her friends.

Connie, I too have a Silhouette cutter and love it. I love the print and cut capabilities! I don’t know a whole lot about everything it can do yet. I watch a lot of You Tube videos about it and that helps. It would be neat if you really get into using it and do a separate blog about it. I do not have MDS, but would be interested in knowing how they work together.

  8. Just love your simple and fast designs. I have built quite a collection of your designs and my takeoff of them too. Keep them coming. You are a sweetheaet.

I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and having so much fun. Hold onto your seat you are going on a wild ride! Yes there is a learning curve with the Cameo but now the options you will have are endless. The Cameo will just enhance your Stampin Up creativity. For some GREAT SVG files take a look at SVG Cuts.
