Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Wednesday Video - www.SimplySimpleStamping.com Hey everyone!  I’m so glad it’s Wednesday for Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Wednesday!  Have I got a card for you!  You will just love this one.  It’s a super cool chevron technique using scraps of Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Wednesday - Free Video - Simple Chevron Card - www.SimplySimpleStamping.comI learned this technique from my friend Colleen Magness.  Is this fabulous or what?

What a crazy week its already been here in the Stewart house!  Mr. Awesome and I are pleased to announce a new addition to the family…a brand new heating and air unit!  UGH!  On Labor Day the A/C went out.  This is not good in Oklahoma where it’s still 98 degrees.  We had a feeling we couldn’t put any more bandaids on it and would have to replace the unit.  NOT a fun way to spend money…especially with a daughter who just started college.  But, as I always say in this house, IT IS WHAT IT IS and I can’t dwell on it.  I did sleep MUCH better last night with the new A/C.  Labor Day we were dying.  I tried to pretend I was camping.  This just made me glad we don’t camp anymore.  My idea of camping is either on wheels or has the word Marriott in it.

We did get to do something FUN after we wrote that extremely large check to the repairman.  We went to see “Phantom of the Opera”.  As you know we are BIG theater fans here.  The show was fantastic!  This is a brand new stage version and although I was a little skeptical at first (don’t mess with perfection) the new staging was SO COOL!!!!!!!  The sets were ginormous and they were round (hmmmm).  They turned them every which way and inside out to create so many different sets.  I just loved it!  Oh, and can we talk about that chandelier?  My daughter’s friend Carson came with us and he had never seen the show.  He let out a word that I can’t say on Simply Simple Stamping when the Phantom sends the chandelier crashing to the stage.  That was a highlight for me.

Well, now that all the excitement is over, it’s time to get back to stamping today.  That’s always good therapy for me.  How about you?

Hope you guys have the most wonderful Wednesday!  Can’t wait to share with you again tomorrow!

Love this Chevron card! And love that beautiful piece of HEAVEN on your left wrist! Blessings! Kim

  2. I saw this technique in a blog post from Brian King. He credited someone else, too. The only difference is his card used 5 pieces of DSP to make the chevrons. Would you think this would be good for a workshop? I’ve been tapped to do a workshop at a Ladies Bible Retreat in Feb. I’m trying to decide what to do for an unknown number of ladies. It needs to be uncomplicated and not use too many tools. Hmmm…thanks for sharing and reminding me of this style!

    Love your videos!

Brian’s awesome! To answer your question about teaching this technique at a Ladies Retreat, unless these ladies are already paper crafters, I wouldn’t. I prefer projects that are very simple and can’t be messed up. I have always chosen a simple Flash Card for big groups. Stamp, punch, and adhere. That’s something that everyone can do and you won’t be running around the room answering questions on “Why didn’t mine work?” Again, that’s just my thoughts on the matter.

      • Thank you, Connie! I was trying to think of something that would have a “Wow” factor without being too complicated (and I didn’t mention before that I have to do this in French, and I do not speak French well). A Flash Card, or Flash Card-like project is a great idea! Thank you so much! Merci beaucoup!
