Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Wednesday – Punch Ring Template

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild - www.SimplySimpleStamping.comWEDNESDAY

Hello to all my WILD Stampin’ Girls!  Are you ready for another Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Wednesday video?  I know my readers from the USA are all up to their eyeballs in stuffing, every inch of their refrigerator is stuffed full, and stamping might be the last thing on their minds.  For my friends from Canada, as well as other countries, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the USA.  We are all gearing up for family, food, and lots of pie!

But Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Wednesday continues no matter what!

Today I have a fun tip video that I think you are going to really like.  It’s a Punch Ring.Template.  This ring may look simple but it sure packs a lot of WOW in it.  You are going to find SO many more uses for your punches once you have this template made.

Let’s get going with today’s video…

The clear sleeves that I used come 100 to a pack and are called Ultra Pro.  I found them at Wal-Mart (near the checkout) next to baseball cards and the like.  They were REALLY inexpensive so they are worth the investment.  You will find lots of other uses for these little sleeves too.

No real supply list to share with you other than ALL 46 PUNCHES STAMPIN’ UP CARRIES!  lol  Yes, we do have a lot of punches, don’t we?  I know many of you have LOTS of them so you will love this template.

Have fun creating and to all my USA friends… HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!  I will be back on Monday.  See you all soon and thank you for checking out STAMPIN’ GALS GONE WILD!

What a cool idea Connie! I have a template that shows me how to get 10 2.5 x 3.5 inch cuts from an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock to use for ATCs. ATCs fit perfectly into those little sleeves, too. Anyway, I’m definitely going to make a punch ring ASAP!

  2. Marilyn Brown says:

I would like to purchase one of these templates. Does anyone have one for sale? Thank you.

  3. Thérèse says:

Connie you are a stampin’ genius. Love this. Today is a dull rainy day, so guess what I’m going to do. I have so many punches that I rarely use, so making these templates will be an awesome tool. All my punches are going to get a workout today.

Connie this is awesome.. I saw something like this on Pinterst and didn’t pin it and never found it again… Thanks

I loved the punch template video, I’ve just added it to my project list. I am curious about your catalog and your tabs. How did you make them and what are the catagories you used

    • Connie Stewart says:

Ah, yes. I added catalog tabs to my catalog. I just printed all the categories in the catalog and punched them out with the Round Tab Punch (which has retired). I believe I fit about 16 on a page – 4 across and 4 down. Just leave plenty of space. You can break down the accessories any way you would like.

Bought something similar from SU many, many years ago. It’s only one punch per page, so there’s a lot more flipping through it to find just the right size circle or oval. I love how you’ve got yours grouped and how much bigger the pages are. I think it’s time to replace the old version with this fresh and very useful version!

  9. Ann T says:

Connie – this is a marvellous idea – I’m absolutely going to do this for myself! Thanks so much for your videos – they are always so helpful and entertaining. Ann

  10. Tania says:

Connie, I have to admit, my initial reaction was as you predicted. But when I saw what you were getting at, I loved it. What a great idea. I shall be making one of these.

  11. Trish says:

I have done this sort of thing for framelets and embossing folders, too. When you use a framelet, neither the outside or inside edge is the exact cut size. I used chipboard (alias tissue box cardboard-pretty side out) each end to contain the cards. I don’t have the plastic sleeves. The card size is different for the punch ring and embossing ring. I would take this idea 1 step further by writing the punch possibilities right in my catalog each time I experiment. Thanks for all the great tips and videos:)

  12. Merci pour cette super idée pour présenter les perfos.
Et un grand Merci aussi pour tout ce que tu partages, même si je ne comprends pas la langue avec les videos j’arrive a faire quelque chose.

This is a fantastic idea Connie, it takes the guessing out of figuring out what punch will work and look good with the stamps. Thank you Connie for all that you do to help us learn and enjoy this wonderful craft.

  14. Linda says:

Terrific idea!!!! I can’t wait to get started on making mine. Love your tips.

  15. Connie…once again you have come up with another fantastic idea! Thank you so much for sharing. After this crazy weekend of shopping frenzy I’ll go to Wal Mart for those sleeves but in the meantime…I’ll be punching my templates. I also love the catalog put into a plastic spiral…what a great idea! Can hardly wait for your next video! 🙂

  16. Teresa says:

I have only recently (a couple of months ago) found you on Pinterest and I have been TOTALLY hooked on your videos ever since! I am now in the process of watching them all and rue the day I’m caught up! LOL I have been learning SO much. Two days ago I saw this video and couldn’t get to Walmart fast enough. I live in Canada and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find the sleeves in our ‘small’ store but ALAS…. I tracked them down and did them ALL this morning! Can hardly wait to start using them. Thank you so much for sharing what you love as I dare say, there are many of us out there that love stamping (and organizing) as much as you do and we really appreciate YOU! ♥

  17. Nadine Motes says:

I made one and yes used black for some but then I thought why not do the circles in one color and the squares in another–so I know which color has the one I want and I also made a punch ring out of punches that I have and they are not Stampin Up’ Thanks again I love it!!

  18. Joanne says:

I made my Punch ring tonight. Can’t wait to do my frame lots and thinlits next, but many are too large for baseball card sleeves. Any ideas?

    • Connie says:

I have a GREAT idea for those! Clear envelopes! We sell them – 50 for $5 so they are a great deal. Item #102619. Hmm, I see a 2-Minute Tuesday Tip coming up!
