Are you ready for a new Teach Me That! Every Thursday I share a new technique to help take your stamping creativity to a whole new level.
Today in Teach Me That, I will be showing you how to create a unique “stamp pad” from a baby wipe.
Are you ready to learn how? Here we go!
- Place a folded baby wipe on a clear block or plastic surface.
- Gather 3-4 reinkers in your choice of colors. I chose 4 shades of pink – Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, and Pink Pirouette.
- Randomly add about 6-8 dots of the darkest color of reinker on the baby wipe.
- Continue with the color one shade lighter….
- …and the next.
- Fill in any spaces with the lightest color.
- Use a solid image stamp and use the baby wipe as your “ink pad.
- Stamp onto your cardstock.
- Continue using this mock ink pad to stamp.
- Now you’re ready to create a card using the baby wipe technique!
Here are the measurements for my card but get creative with your project:
- Melon Mambo – 11” x 4 ¼”, score and fold at 5 ½”
- Basic Black – 4 ¼” x 2 ¾”
- Whisper White – 4” x 2 ½”
- 16” White Bakers Twine

*Also available in Wood Mount
What to do when you’re done with that inky baby wipe?
Here’s another version of the baby wipe technique. This one uses the brand new glossy white cardstock! Item #144240
- Bring together the 4 corners of the inky baby wipe.
- On Glossy White cardstock, dab & swirl, dab & swirl the baby wipe around the cardstock. The ink will just glide over that glossy finish.
Now, how can you use that gorgeous piece of glossy stamped paper? Check out this card!
I used the Eastern Beauty stamp set to stamp the flower and the matching Thinlits were used to pop the flower out.
A little silver glimmer made this card pop!
Here are the measurements for my second card:
- Whisper White Thick – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Basic Black – 4 ¼” x 2 ¾”
- Whisper White – 4” x 2 ½”
- Glossy White – 3 ⅞” x 2 ⅜ ”
