Today’s tip in the AQUA PAINTER AUGUST series is a fun and simple one. It’s all about splattering and you are going to love this simple tip on using your Aqua Painter to create this look.
For my card idea, I chose to go with a light colored splatter. For vintage styles, I tend to use dark colors but I loved how this lightly splattered Lemon Lime Twist lent itself perfectly on my card.
I am working on a video for tomorrow on how to create this card.
Are you ready for today’s 2-Minute Tuesday Tip in Aqua Painter August? Here we go….

I am happy to report that the 11-year laundry room project is complete! Yay! You’re probably looking at it and thinking, “THAT took 11 years?” It was supposed to be a surprise while I was away at a Stampin’ Up conference but an ice storm cut my trip short so all that was done were cabinets installed. Over time, the sink made it in, and of course, the new washer and dryer last month. We really have no idea why it took so long to work on it. <cough, cough, we’re lazy, cough>
A couple weeks ago, the cabinets were painted with a really cool special cabinet paint. It look a little longer than just regular paint but cabinets get a workout and I wanted something that would last. They look amazing and match my other furniture throughout the house. We’re now thinking about painting the kitchen cabinets this same color. Hmm, maybe in another 11 years we can tackle that one. lol For now, I am going to enjoy my pretty laundry room.
So, remember I told you I was working on wedding invitations for a friend? I just realized I never shared them with you. Her wedding is in October and she chose fall colors – Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla, and Gold. Christina is a bridesmaid and found a dress that matched this color perfectly (and she looks stunning).
This Big Shot die is retired now (insert sad face). I love how the invitation slips out of the sleeve but is a nice piece by itself too.
Christina and I created 125 of these beauties while we were in Tulsa over the summer. What a mess we had in the camper but hey, that’s what vacuums are for. The bride was thrilled with how they turned out. It was such an honor to create them for her special day to a very special guy.
Haircut day was a success!!! YAY! I am so happy! I even got bold and went when a new look. You’ll see it on tomorrow’s video. It is SO nice to get that mop on my head trimmed up. I don’t think I will ever want to go that long between haircuts again.
Thanks for joining me today for another 2-Minute Tip! I hope that you enjoyed it! Remember tomorrow I will have a video on how to create this card. :)

Cute card, Connie, with a great tip on this splatter method. Love the wedding invitations!! So beautiful! Great job on getting the laundry finished. It looks so pretty and functional. I’m looking forward to seeing your new look and the video tomorrow. Enjoy your day!
The laundry room is right off the kitchen so it is nice to have a pretty space. 🙂
Thank you for all of your Aqua Painter tips. Have you done a tip on how to fill an Aqua Painter with alcohol without spilling the alcohol all over? I sure need help with that. What a pretty card today.Love it Thank you so much for your daily inspiration.
Good question (and I will probably answer it on my blog next week). I use a medicine dropper, like the ones you use for kids? Works great and no mess.
Connie, remember the confetti cardstock SU used to sell. Loved it. Now I can make my own. Thanks for the great tip.
I loved that paper! Yep, make your own as you need it.
Thx Connie. I like the light splatter these create. Love your new laundry room. And of course those invitations are gorgeous!!!!! Can’t wait to see your new “do”. I am heading to get mine done right now :0)
I love haircut day. It’s always a happy day!
Thanks for reminding me about the splatter technique. Nice to see a simple but effective tip! Thanks for sharing.
Simple is what I do! 🙂
I look forward to Tuesday morning to be able to see your tips before I go to work. Love all your ideas. Loved your laundry room and I also am looking forward to seeing your new haircut.
Thanks Kathy!
Would love to know the name of the paint you used on your cabinets. I’m going on the second year of remodeling and would love to get in done well before the 11 year mark. LOL.
Janet, it’s called Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations. It comes in a box and you have the store tint it. You can find it at Lowes or Home Depot.
Thanks for your tips Connie. WHat’s the special cabinet paint called? I need to do the same thing with mine and I’d like them to last!
It’s called Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations. It comes in a box with the cans you need to tint inside.
Connie, I have the same question as JB Stamper. I REALLY need to paint some cabinets and yours look fabulous! Your splatters and wedding invitations are just as impressive!!
If only painting cabinets were as simple as stamping, right? lol The paint we used is called Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations. It comes in a box with the cans you need to tint inside.
Great tip! Your laundry room looks amazing and the invitations are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the new do.
Thanks!
The invitations are great! How nice of you two to do them for her. I appreciate your tip. I’ve seen people flicking the brush ends of their markers, but I’m too chicken to risk damaging them, so this a great tip for me!
You know, I flicked my markers like crazy but never got any splatter. Not sure what I was doing wrong but the Aqua Painter is easier for me.
