Hello hello hello my sweet stampin’ friends! Today I am going to share the final 2-Minute Tuesday Tip video in the Aqua Painter series. I hope you’ve learned a lot about Aqua Painters and can see how valuable these beauties are to your stampin’ stash.
Today I want to share a fabulous way to create distressed edges using the Aqua Painters. Who knew that this wonderful little brush could help create soft, distressed edges? No more dents in your cardstock as you tear. It’s awesome!
Here is the final video in the series….

Getting older isn’t for sissies. Anyone out there know what I mean? Have you ever got one of those “mystery” injuries that you have NO CLUE how you got it but it’s some of the worst pain you’ve ever had? I was blessed with one of those crazy, out of the blue, injuries. it started on Friday, a simple little “Hmmm, I think I slept wrong and my neck hurts.” No big deal, right? It’s hard to move it but not horrible but I just kept blowing it off thinking it was just a simple neck pain.
Fast forward to Sunday and I can’t move my neck more than half an inch to the right or left and the pain was worst than anything I had ever experienced. Then these other weird things started happening. My left arm would go numb, cold sweats and chills. This is not good. I have a great doctor and he got me in first thing Monday morning. He did x-rays and everything was fine but my white blood count was elevated. He was “this close” to sending me to the ER for a spinal tap to test for meningitis. Say WHAT???? Um, I was not happy to hear the word “spinal tap”. I don’t know everything there is to know about it but I have watched enough “St. Elsewhere”, “ER”, and “Chicago Med” to know that I DON’T WANT ONE! Because I didn’t have any of the other symptoms he said he would wait but if I got even the slightest fever I was to go straight to the ER. GOOD NEWS! That never happened! He put me on a steroid and muscle relaxer and this morning, I am seeing a huge change. I have a little more mobility in my neck and generally “feel” more like myself. I will stay on these meds for the week and should be good as new soon. I better be! I have some fun stamping stuff to share with you this week!
Don’t forget! Tomorrow night I will be LIVE on Facebook!!! I will be creating some beautiful cards with the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack. Thanks for the great tip, Connie. So sorry to hear of your neck problem and hope it gets better real soon. Sending healing hugs your way today.
Great tip – will have to try it – I never get the torn paper result that I like! I guess I missed the instructions for the card pictured above – please tell me where to find the video. It is a really great card!
Sarah, I just used that card as an example. I will see about doing a video on it soon though.
Connie, thanks for the great aqua painter tips this month.
This card you showed today is gorgeous.
Thanks so much JoAnn!
yikes!!!! very scary thoughts going through your mind w these unexplained discomforts. i know the feeling. very thankful you found out *nothing serious* and that a few meds seem to be solving the problem. looooooooved your tips on tearing. guess what? no rubbing alcohol in our house. out to walgreens ASAP!!! and am going to try it for myself!!! love the card also. i am very much into those vintage stamps.
But did your doctor do an ekg?!
Carole, he did x-rays and all was fine there. He did some blood work as well and I will get the results from that later today. I am feeling so much better today. Those steroids worked FAST!
Thanks for all of your tips for using the Aqua Painter. I only used mine for watercoloring. I agree growing old is full of surprises. I “hurt” myself just turning over in bed. My daughter use to ask why I keep making noises/moans. LOL. I’m glad that you are feeling better. My new favorite verse is Psalms 73:26.
Debby, GREAT verse! It kind of made me giggle though…. in a good way. Thanks for that!
i may have to adopt the above psalm quotation :)))))
Connie, Im glad you got thru your medical concern! But more than that, Im glad you are ok!
Connie I have had a stiff neck the past few days and when I read this I thought oh no. I have been using BIOFREEZE cold therapy pain relief. Getting lots better. Thanks for your info. I love your site. Evie

Dear Connie,
When unexpected aches hit us, they really can immobilize us. So glad you were smart and got to your doctor and are gradually feeling better.
Thanks for all of these quick tips. I have always hated “distressing” card edges but will now give it a try your way ?
Peace and blessings,
Oh what a great tip. Going to remember this one. Sure hope you are on the mend. Not fun
I will keep you in my prayers for your recovery.
Thank you so so much for the aqua painter month. I learned a lot. I watch your videos religiously and love all of your help and inspiration. Feel better quickly.
Thanks so much Carol!!
Love your aqua painter series. I’ve had the painters for years, but only ever used water, I had no idea they were so versatile.
I would love to see a video for the card, it is gorgeous.
So glad to hear you’re feeling better.
Oh Connie, so sorry to hear of your painful scare. An thanking God you’re getting better without any painful tests.
Thanks for this handy tip! How do I find the other videos regarding Aqua painters.
Thanks Constance! Yep, feeling SO much better. Prayer and modern medicine go hand in hand. 🙂 You can find everything in the Aqua Painter August series by going to the “Categories” section of my blog (right side bar) and just click on Aqua Painter August. If it had to do with Aqua Painters, it will pop up.
