I thought I would share an update with you. You might recall that when Christina started her Fall semester at college, she had to enroll in a debate class in order to get her Theatre Education degree. The class is only offered every 3 years and here she is, a Senior, and she can finally take it. The struggle was the professor never, and I mean NEVER, showed up in class. The professor did email her about a month ago to say, “I’ll be in touch about setting up a schedule with you” but that was the last she heard from him.
We are now 7 weeks into the semester and this professor still hasn’t contacted her. Christina, bless her heart, has emailed him, parked herself in front of his office during his office hours, emailed the Dean of the department, emailed her advisor, and still nothing. She can’t seem to get anyone to DO anything.
She set up an appointment with the no-show professor’s boss, the Dean of the department, to see what he could do to help her. The Dean was just as frustrated as Christina was and he finally decided HE would personally teach her this class. He is even going to cover the cost of the text book. I wouldn’t want to be that professor when his boss tells him that HE personally had to teach his class for him because he wouldn’t. Oh to be a fly on the wall during that meeting!
I hope you enjoyed today’s 2-Minute Tuesday Tip! I am going to try to fill October with some other inspiration tips to help you in your paper crafting. Stay tuned!
