2-Minute Tuesday Tip video – Spiral Notebook Cover
I have been making these little spiral notebooks for years and it was time to share a video on how EASY they are to make. Notice that the Designer Series Paper goes all the way up to the top? That’s what makes this look so professional.
Let me share today’s quick tip video. Soon you’ll be making these notebooks like crazy…
A few tips that I didn’t mention in the video:
- Don’t forget to add a piece of cardstock to the back. That’s just tacky.
- Depending on how you decorate your notebook, you don’t want the front and back to match, otherwise you can’t tell what is the front and back of your notebook.
- If your notebook has rounded corners, don’t use a corner rounder. Not all corners are the same. Just use your Paper Snips to snip away the excess.
- Get creative and repeat the same paper on the inside cover as well.
Don’t just stop at these small spiral notebooks either. What about steno pads or school notebooks? Same concept, just different sized paper.
I used the Floral Frames bundle to create my focal image. I just got it and it’s just been dying to be used!
Here are some of the standard measurements for different notebooks but I recommend you measure each one since not all notebooks are created equal:
- Small Notebook – approx. 3″ x 5″
- Steno Notebook – approx. 6″ x 9″
- School Subject Notebook – approx. 8 ⅝” x 10 ½”

Finally! The weather cooled off enough and we were able to go camping this past weekend. It rained on and off the entire time but it was a nice rain. Not a downpour, no thunder & lightning, just a nice steady rain.
Both Mr. Awesome and I needed some time to unplug and it was nice to just sit around, play solitaire on the iPad, and drink coffee all day. To me, that is what I call the perfect weekend. 🙂 Hope yours was wonderful as well!
My new series “Speedy Delivery” debuted on Saturday. I received such wonderful feedback from you guys and I am so thrilled you enjoyed it. I think some of you were concerned that this was the way all my videos would look but rest assured, absolutely not. I will continue with my 2-MInute Tuesday Tips and my card making videos as normal. Speedy Delivery is a special series for clean and simple (and speedy cards). So glad you enjoyed it! There will be a new one this coming Saturday as well!
I hope that you were inspired by what you saw today. With “back to school” right around the corner, you can create some gorgeous custom designed notebooks for your kids and grandkids! You know who else LOVES notebooks? Teachers. They can’t get enough of them!
