I’ve got a FREE tutorial for you today for a Bird Ballad Friendship card. Let me say….what a whirlwind it’s been in the Stewart house these last couple of weeks! Between getting Christina’s classroom cleaned and set up all last week, this week was all about shopping for Ginny’s dorm room and then setting it up yesterday. I am just beat! So, I hope you won’t mind that I don’t have the energy to shoot a video today BUT I do have a free tutorial for you and I think you will enjoy it.

Bird-Ballad-Friendship-Card

I know that many of you have fallen in love with the birds in the Bird Ballad Suite on page 90-92. It was the first bundle I purchased when I saw the new catalog.

Bird-Ballad-Friendship-Card

Today’s Bird Ballad friendship card doesn’t feature the birds but the flowers from this stamp set.

Bird-Ballad-Friendship-Card

Hmmm, it seems fitting that I shared the Bird Ballad suite today. I didn’t plan it that way but today it suddenly hit me that I am an empty nester. Ginny is all set up in her dorm room. My baby bird has left the nest and this Momma Bird is so happy for her. For the real bird moms, I can imagine that pushing that baby bird out of the nest to show them they can fly is hard yet so rewarding too. Momma bird has done what she was meant to do – be a mom. Today (and yes, I am crying as I type this) I have done the same. Ginny is going to SOAR to high places and experience amazing things at the University of Oklahoma. Christina is going to be her own sort of Momma Bird to her new incoming students on Tuesday and 9 months from now, she will feel the same feeling as some of her students graduate. She will push her babies from the nest so they can soar too. I know she will be an amazing teacher and the skills she passes onto her students will mold them into incredible adults. I can’t thank you enough for all the cards that have poured in for her. Christina has LOVED every one of them!!!!

I couldn’t be more proud than I am right now at this very moment…. of both my girls.

Wow, didn’t think this is what I would be typing today. Get me the industrial size box of tissues. It’s going to be hard day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY – “Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn’t people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them?” — Rose Kennedy

I appreciate you giving me today off from the video. It’s been an exhilarating past couple of weeks and suddenly today the house seems so quiet. I think I will spend the day relaxing and reflecting. Oh no, here come the tears again. I think it’s time for me to close this blog post before I short out my keyboard.

Have a wonderful weekend my sweet stamping friends!!! Love to all of you! Mwah!
