I wanted to share some good news with you today. We could all use some HAPPY news about now, right?
My heart has been filled with so much joy lately as I read about the caravans of teachers who have decorated their cars and drove through the neighborhoods of their students. Their cars say things like “Mrs. Smith Loves You” or “I Miss my Students! Go Lions!”
A few nights ago, Mr. Awesome and I were sitting on the couch when we heard honking and “wahoos” outside. He got up to see what was going on and called for me to come out right away. There were about 10 cars of teachers waving at their students, yelling WE MISS YOU. A young kid from our neighborhood, probably around 10 or 11, rides his bike up to us, and with the biggest smile on his face says, “That’s MY teacher!” Well, I’m not embarrassed to tell you both Rich and I started to cry with joy. The excitement in this boy’s eyes was just the best thing ever. He continued to ride his bike and join his teachers in the teacher parade.
These educators LOVE their kids like they love their own children. They truly miss their students and wanted to let them know they are loved, missed, and cherished for who they are. Christina is a high school teacher, this is her first year teaching, but she got to join in on the fun with her school district. I don’t know how many cars joined in, but on a gloomy day they lined up their cars and spent the afternoon driving the neighborhoods of Shawnee letting their kids know they are loved and missed. Here’s a picture.
How’s that for some GOOD NEWS right now?! I think we need more of that. Stay tuned! I will share more with you throughout this pandemic. If you have kids or grandkids, take a minute to send their teachers a card and tell them THANK YOU for what they do. They are having to face trying to teach online and that’s not easy to do. It’s a brand new thing for most of these teachers and to say it will be a challenge is an understatement. Let’s flood our teachers with cards of love and support!!!
Thanks so much for joining me today! I sure appreciate you stopping by. These cards would be perfect to send to cheer up a friend, don’t you think? I think we all know someone who could use a little happy mail.
I look forward to sharing with you again on Saturday for a new Flash Card 2.0 that was designed with the guys in mind. See you then!
Stay safe my friends!

As always, Connie, I love the card designs but I wanted to comment on the teachers. This is something they do not have to do and it’s a testimony to their dedicated hearts, not to mention how they might be inspiring a youngster to follow in their path. Last week, here in Columbus, KS, our teachers did that parade through the neighborhood and a big ole red fire truck led it! Don’t you know the little guys were thrilled to see that and hear the siren and then see them wave and honk their horns!
Thank you for today’s post. Your story of the teachers brought a tear to my eyes. Your quote of the day was perfect. Your cards are beautiful and love seeing your smilling face. You are an inspiration in so many ways.
Beautiful story Connie! Our teachers have been doing the same…driving through the neighborhoods. Now these three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.

I love these! I will CASE with the Magnolia Blooms stamp set. Thank you for sharing your creativity, your family, and your smiling face!
My daughter-in-law graduated in January and got her first full time teaching position in January. This must be “trial by fire” as she only got to do real teaching for about 2 months before she had to learn remote teaching. I wish all the teachers the best. I thought you were live on Thursdays @ 8 p.m. but I’ll be darned if I can find where to go. TYIA
How heartwarming! You are absolutely right Connie, teachers love their students like their own children. I am retired now but I taught for years. Teaching is a passion, it comes from the heart….I do miss it…….

I love this, I was a teacher for 25 years in Houston, Texas. This was very moving, I know those children felt truly loved. Thanks.
They were SO happy to be back in school. Christina said the first 2 days were great and her students are excited.
