How To Tie A Square Knot? I’ve Got 5 Tips To Share

Maybe you just aren’t into those “frilly” bows and want something simpler or a way to use ribbon on your project that has a more masculine feel? Learning to make a square knot in those cases will be your go-to.

I Can Custom Color Ribbon Easily? Yes!

That’s right! You can custom color ribbon so easily and this is one of my favorite tips to share about working with craft ribbon. No need to worry that you don’t have coordinating ribbon for your art and craft projects anymore because I’m going to show you how to make what you need.

Can you believe that coloring ribbon is so easy? Which method do you think would be your preference? I personally love using my Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) to color ribbon because it’s easy and no mess at all!

But Wait….I Have More Tips On Working With Ribbon…

Working with craft ribbon is easy but you may have questions like, ‘How do I attach it to my project?’ or ‘How do I remove wrinkles?’ I’ve got answers for you. You’ll find working with craft ribbon so much easier with these tips.

‘How do you store ribbon?’

I get asked all the time how to store ribbon. I have seen everything from plastic shoe boxes with holes in the sides for the ribbon to pull through. I have seen rain gutters mounted to the wall, or hanging the ribbon through dowel rods. What I don’t care for are spools thrown into a box to dig through (yep, guilty). I prefer to keep mine in a drawer like this.

Nothing fancy but my drawers (Elfa system from The Container Store) have plastic dividers in them that worked perfect for organizing my ribbon. I use one of the bigger spaces for scraps of ribbon or bows that I made that ‘didn’t quite work’ on a card.

Another tip would be to find drawer organizers that will hold your ribbon spools. Just take a spool with you to Walmart, Ikea, or The Container Store and start looking around at what storage options will work for you.
