My new craft room tour features fabulous ideas from The Container Store. They offer so many storage solutions you may not have thought about.
It’s a video that has been a long time in the making but I wanted to take the time to work in the new space and tweak it so that it was just right before I shared it. I have moved so many things around from when I first created it last summer.
It’s a much longer video than what you’re used to from me, so grab a beverage and enjoy!

How do you use the pegboard in a craft room?
The peg board has been the one thing you have asked me about more than anything. Let me just say it IT. IS. AWESOME! I love having everything so close. It cleared up all the space on my counter so I can create easily – just reach out and grab what I need. The Container Store has so many cool things you can put on the peg board.
- Hooks of all different sizes
- Cups of all different sizes
- Shelves – yep, different sizes
- And it’s magnetic too!
As you can see in this craft room tour, I have all my tools in the hanging cups, scissors are on hooks, my adhesive is within reach at all times, and my clear blocks are neatly organized on shelves. ALL of these things can be moved around so easily.
Craft Room Tour-Paper Storage
I think I am most proud of my paper storage system. It is an Elfa drawer unit that I was able to convert to paper storage. YES, that is 12″ x 12″ paper in the top drawer on the right! I used hanging dividers and hanging file folders to organize my paper.
Here are links to the items I used in my craft room:
- Punch shelves – Elfa Utility Shelf mounted on a Elfa Utility Peg Board
- Clear Block trays – Elfa Utility Peg Board Tray mounted on a Elfa Utility Peg Board
- Ink Pad & Marker storage – Storage by Stampin’ Up!
- Stampin’ Blend storage – Storage by Stampin’ Up!
- Ribbon – Elfa Drawer Divided Tray
- Embellishment organization – X-Small Smart Store Compact Bins
- 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper organization – Small Smart Store Compact Bins
- 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper drawers (7-Runner) – Elfa Cabinet Drawer Frame and Drawers
- Die Cutting storage – Medium Smart Store Compact Bins
- Embossing Folder organization – X-small and Medium Smart Store Compact Bins

Thank you for your patience as I worked on this craft room tour video. As I said, there were a lot of changes that took place, new things were added to the room, and I wanted to know that what I was sharing with you was working.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed the tour!
Love your craft room! It would be hard to pull me out of there.
Share an office with my daughter, so my space is a “wee bit” smaller, but still got some really great hints and ideas. You have a wonderful working space!!!
I really enjoyed your tour and explanation of where, how, and why you used these products. I do have a container store near me and I may visit them. Thank you for sharing this space. It’s wonderful!
Love it, love it, love it! Thank you for this fun, detailed tour! So, what ARE the dementions of your room?
The main part is 19′ x 14′, then there is a little L shape and it’s 8′ x 9′
I have had an Elfa Desk since the late 80’s. I love it. When I needed to change the drawer sizes a few years ago, I drove over to the Container Store and they gave me store credit for the drawers I was returning and I got the new drawers with the credit. I didn’t even buy my Elfa at The CS. I got it at a store called Hold IT that I worked at during that time. We called it Container Store North since it was in North San Diego and The CS was in South San Diego.
Amazing customer service!!!
No wonder you make such happy videos!…I absolutely enjoyed seeing your craft room and seeing you so happy. Girl, you deserve it! You don’t mess around. What a perfect space for you. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Best craft room I have ever seen!
OH My, what an awesome craft room, it looks so sleek, well planned and organized !! May I ask what size is your craft room ? This is the craft room of my dreams, love it !
The main part is 19′ x 14′, then there is a little L shape and it’s 8′ x 9′
Your craft room is beautifully designed. I noticed the chair and pillow. My mom made a pillow like that one about 50 years ago! And, of course, everyone must have a sock monkey! I enjoyed the tour.
I found that pillow at At Home and fell in love with it! It’s so retro and cute! It added a splash of color to the gray chair too. My sock monkey was made by my great grandmother so it’s an oldie – Sock Monkey Original!
Incredible!!!
Wow, that is a great craft room. I share mine room with my husband and his computer. BUT slowly taking over. I too have a Container Store close to me and recently bought some items from them to get organized. I have also used ‘Stamp n Storage’ for my ink pads and punches. Beautiful room!
Where did you buy your ‘old’ desk? Love your organized craft room!

I loved seeing your new room.I just rearranged my craft room that I’m lucky to have.Love watching your card video’s.
Connie – What a beautiful room, thank you for the tour and ideas. I’ve always been curious about the wood “desk” that so many seem to film on (mystery solved). I’m already looking into those lights. Would like to know where you got the electric desk, as I, too, need to be standing more. Hope you enjoy your craft room for many more years in good health.
http://www.flexispot.com. You can find them on Amazon too. LOVE my desk!
Thank you for sharing ideas that work! Many years ago when dies were getting popular, you had a video tip of using the vent covers and a binder. Used that idea for years but the binders were getting a little heavy. Lol! When I saw your use of the smart storage bins, I ran out and bought some. Perfect! Organized, easy to locate and not too heavy. Thanks for the ideas!
Yep, same here. The binder was great but over time got too heavy to work with. This idea I just started doing this past summer and it’s working SO much better.
Connie, Thank you for showing us such good organizing ideas. You mentioned a label maker in your video. What brand has the capabilities that you mentioned? Thanks!
Dymo LetraTag is the name. You should be able to find it on Amazon
