Happy Friday! Who’s in need of some stamp therapy? Me me me!!!! How about you? Well, today on Creative Juice, I have a great sketch layout to help you get started on your weekend stamp therapy session. Are you ready for Week #15? Let’s get started!
Each week I serve up a big glass of CREATIVE JUICE to get your creative juices flowing. Let me share this week’s card inspiration.
- Get creative with your color combinations.
- Those strips could be a stamped boarder, washi tape, Designer Paper or even ribbon.
You can print out the sketches each week OR you can save them to your computer. By doing this you will have sketch ideas at your fingertips, whenever you need them. Just click the pic to download or print it. Remember, you can always find them here if you go to the ‘Categories’ (located on the right side bar) and click on Creative Juice.
Here is what I came up with for today’s CREATIVE JUICE sketch…
I went a little off the sketch with my sentiment but not on purpose. It’s just what happened as I working with the layout. That’s what I love about this series. It’s just a starting point for your stamping, not a “set in stone” layout.
I used that gorgeous Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. What a fun way to combine two suites?
I did get a little creative with the ‘strips’ that are on the sketch and I used ribbon. When I went to put the card together, I decided to weave the paper in-between the Designer Paper. It turned out really cute!
Added a few stamped images to the inside too!
Here are the measurements for my CELEBRATE THE GOOD STUFF card but remember, these measurements are not set in stone. Get creative with your measurements!
- Basic Black – 11″ x 4 ¼”, score and fold at 5 ½”
- Whisper White – (2) 3 ¾” x 5″
- Berry Burst – 1 ½” x 2 ½”
- Designer Series Paper – 2 ½” x 4″

When my girls were little we would play a little game at the dinner table. We would ask the girls “Tell us one good thing and one bad thing about your day”. It was a great game because my girls normally would go on and on about their bad thing but somehow this game changed that and the conversation was more about their good thing. I thought I would share my “good thing and bad thing” with you.
My good thing was that last night was opening night and it was SO much fun. Everything went smoothly and we performed to a packed house. Before the show started we learned that we are only the second show in the 50 years history of this theatre to sell out before the show even starts. How cool is that?
My bad thing…. well, I shared yesterday that our school district threw in the towel on our teacher’s strike and late afternoon the Oklahoma Educators Association announced they are ending the strike. There were a lot of tears in this house. THERE IS GOOD NEWS though. We made our voices HEARD and the people of Oklahoma now KNOW a lot about what is happening in our state capital. That was really important and it is a GOOD thing. I personally didn’t know how bad it was until all this came about. If it took this strike to wake up the people of this state, then so be it. Our voices will be heard again when it’s time for re-election.
I said it before and I will say it again, Simply Simple Stamping ISN’T a platform for politics and this will be last you will hear about this issue. I only shared this because I know you guys see it on the news and it was something I was really passionate about. Thank you all SO much for allowing me to share this issue with you and for your supporting emails & comments. I always keep my opinions to myself but this Dear Diary segment is honestly my personal journal. I enjoy jotting down triumphs and trials. They are part of life. This trial has CHANGED my mindset and that is a GOOD THING. Look at that! My bad thing just tuned into a good thing!
I did do some stamping yesterday and that was exactly what I needed. It’s amazing how a stamp, some ink and paper can take whatever bad is going on around you and make it disappear. When the creative side of your brain takes over, there is nothing but joy. I hope that you can set aside some time this weekend for some stamp therapy. Do me a favor? When you do, take a moment to recognize how your mood changes when you get creative. It just might be your “good thing” for the day. 🙂
