Today’s CREATIVE JUICE sketch came at the perfect time. I needed a birthday card for my sister. She’s kinda special so I went a little more ‘over the top’ for her card. You know I like to keep things simple but in all honesty, the card is still very simple. It did take a little more time but I think it was worth the extra time.

Each week I serve up a big glass of CREATIVE JUICE to get your creative juices flowing.  Let me share this week’s card inspiration.

  • Get creative with your color combinations.
  • The Designer Paper could also be a stamped background.
  • The Baker’s Twine could be ribbon, washi tape, or even cardstock.

You can print out the sketches each week OR you can save them to your computer. By doing this you will have sketch ideas at your fingertips, whenever you need them.  Just click the pic to download or print it.  Remember, you can always find them here if you go to the ‘Categories’ (located on the right side bar) and click on Creative Juice.

Here is what I came up with for today’s CREATIVE JUICE sketch…

Rather than go with the torn edge like what is pictured in the sketch, I chose to use the Triple Banner Punch. It worked better for a birthday card.

The Broadway Birthday bundle was the first bundle I ordered when the new Catalog & Idea Book came out in June but this was the first time I got to play with it. LOVE it!  Those dots (or lights) in the word WISH make the image really pop off the card. I created it with White Embossing Powder. It was worth this extra step.

The bundle also has the sweet birthday hats. Super cute!

I also changed the Baker’s Twine to the ¼” Striped ribbon and it added such whimsy to the card, don’t you think?
