Greeting Card Gift Box: Flashback Friday + a SALE announcement today!! Christmas is right around the corner. You know this because you are now bombarded with Christmas commercials. I am a fan of making my gifts instead of buying them and I love to give the gift of hand stamped cards. I also love to create a beautiful DIY gift box to give them in!
Before we get into today’s project let’s talk about the STAMPIN’ UP! SALE Today’s projects ties in perfectly with the sale too. Time to get some cardstock, Designer Paper, and Twine!
I hope all my USA friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! My family and I are gone for the rest of the week but I jumped on my computer to let you know about an UNBELIEVABLE SALE starting TODAY! 10% off November 23-28, 2018! 3 48-hour sales just waiting for you!
This sale is broken down into 3 days and over the next 3 days practically EVERYTHING in our 2018-2019 Annual Catalog will be on sale! Wahoo! This is truly the SALE OF THE YEAR!
Let me share a fun Greeting Card Gift Box: FLASHBACK FRIDAY project. This greeting card gift box will just knock your socks off. It’s such a pretty way to give the gift of love with a fold in the middle.
I created this project last December live on Facebook but lucky you, you get to see the “edited” version! NOTE: The Designer Paper and stamp set are retired BUT the project can be created with your favorite Designer Paper or scrapbook paper. Get creative!
Talk about a gorgeous way to give the gift of hand stamped cards and you can say, “I made it myself!”
The focal image on the front cover? This can be ANYTHING! It’s a standard 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card on the front. Pick your favorite card to go on the front. Voila! A beautiful, personalized greeting card gift box.
Crumb Cake – 8 ½” x 11”
Score at 4 ¾” and 6 ¼” (11” at the top)
Score at 1” and 2 ½” (8 ½” at the top)
Crumb Cake – 3” x 8 ½”
Score at ⅜”, 1 ⅞”, flip and repeat (8 ½” at the top)
Score at 2 ½” (3″ at the top)
Designer Series Paper – 5 ¾” x 10 ¾” – Score at 4 ⅝” and 6 ⅛”
Ribbon – 30”
Here are a few diagrams to help you put the greeting card gift box together. These are listed in the downloadable link.
I have always found the gift of handmade cards to be one of the best received gifts. I love that people appreciate how nice these cards look over a store-bought card and even thought not everyone likes to make their own greeting cards, they do love to send them.
I hope you will give this simple DIY gift box a try!
Have a wonderful weekend my friends! Please stop by tomorrow for a Speedy Delivery Christmas card. You are going to love how easy and fast tomorrow’s card is to make! See you then!

Hi Connie, I love the card box! Great way to make gifts for Christmas. Thanks for the video and instructions.
Love your website with sooo many great ideas.
I am bran new to stamping/ card making. Im loving your utube channel because there is a lot to help a newbie such as myself. There is a ton I have no idea about. What ink do I stamp with to water color? What ink to stamp with for alcohol markers? If I just want a very black detailed stamp, what ink do I buy? Cardstock?? What should I start out with? Reminder Im bran new and have 0 card making supplies. Glue? wet/kind? There are so so so many bran new newbie questions that I just can’t find anyone breaking down and explaining to someone with NO supplies what so ever. What’s must haves and what should I start out purchasing? Score board? mini or a full size one? Paper trimmer? One last question… Would you happen to have a pdf of all the different card sizes and also the mat sizes for them? Thank you so much! Im looking forward to picking out some awesome things from you, soon as Ive done a lil research to find out what I need. lol
Jami, I will do my best to answer your questions. This makes me think it might be time to do a Beginner’s Stampers tutorial.
What ink do I stamp with to water color? I would recommend StazOn if using water
What ink to stamp with for alcohol markers? Memento Tuxedo Black or any of our Classic ink pads will work
If I just want a very black detailed stamp, what ink do I buy? Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock?? What should I start out with? I would recommend the assorted packages so you get a little of all the colors.
Glue? wet/kind? It’s a personal preference. I love the Snail dispenser personally but I have demonstrator friends who prefer the Multipurpose Glue.
What’s must haves and what should I start out purchasing? I suggest stamps, ink, and paper. Look for stamp sets that have images and sentiments. Also, look for a variety of sentiments (birthday, thank you, thinking of you, etc.) You get more for your money that way.
Score board? mini or a full size one? We only carry one size of score board. I love mine but if your paper cutter has a scoring blade on it, you could hold off on this purchase.
Paper trimmer? Our new paper trimmer (which has a scoring blade on it) will be available soon. I don’t have an exact date on it but it should be soon.
Would you happen to have a pdf of all the different card sizes and also the mat sizes for them? I don’t but I will see about adding something like that to my blog in the near future.
