Every now and then, a card includes a detail that makes people stop and look twice. On today’s project, that detail is a tiny envelope with a little note tucked inside.
This handmade card idea adds a playful surprise right on the front of the design. The card itself is a standard A2 size (4¼” x 5½”), but the focal point is the miniature envelope holding a small note card that slides in and out. It’s a simple element that instantly turns an ordinary card into an interactive, memorable one.
The best part is how easy it is to make the envelope. All you need is a 3” x 3” piece of Designer Series Paper or cardstock, and in just a few quick folds, you’ll have the perfect little pocket for a tiny message.
In this tutorial, we’ll create two different card designs using textured embossing folders, layered dies, and colorful patterned paper. Both versions feature the same charming envelope detail, making them perfect for sending encouragement, friendship, or a little extra love through the mail.
