How to Match Craft Punches & Dies With Their Corresponding Stamp Set –Oh, and embossing folder too!
I don’t think I am the only one who struggles trying to remember if a stamp set has a matching die, punch, or embossing folder. Perhaps you are in the same boat as me. I had to make a change to my organization system and came up with an idea that I am LOVING so far and I am going to share my tip in today’s Tuesday Tip video.

Did you enjoy learning this little tip to match craft punches & dies and embossing folders? Will you be trying this? Let me know!
To start the process to match craft punches & dies I found it easiest to start at the front of the catalog and work my way through, adding a D (die), P (punch), or EF (embossing folder) to the spine of my stamp set. WOW did this tip make my life easier and I am so glad I took the time to do this.
If you don’t have an alphabet stamp set, you can just write the letters with a Sharpie but I like everything to be uniform (shout out to my OCD friends and those who like things uniform).
Here is the stamp set and ink I used. Remember, you can use either the Black Memento Ink or the StazOn ink, whichever you have.

Your tip is a good idea
I have colored dots for mine been using
for over 10 years now…………….But there is times
I missed one and still look in the book.
Have a great week
Thanks for the “kick in the pants” Connie!! I’ve considered doing this for the last couple of years, and just never got around to getting it done! I appreciate the reminder.
What a great idea ! Will give it a try,
Thank you! I am organizing my ‘stuff’ and had not figured out how to know if a stamp set had a punch to coordinate. You have shown me how to put my puzzle together!
Connie I was always having trouble finding my dice it went with the stamp set so I even did something But I think it’s helpful I put the magnet sheet and my dies right in the same case with my rubbers stamps and on the outside I wrote dies so I know the days and the stamps are together. Hope that’s helpful for somebody
I’m a little afraid the dies will cut the stamps. They are very close in the case. I have very old sets that I need to match up, do you have a suggestion? I put a dot on my cases to tell me I have put it in my computer in my list of SU items.
I don’t put the dies in with the stamps for that reason. It just made me nervous. I hear from a lot of customers who do and they don’t seem to have issues so it’s a personal preference.
Great tip! Thank you for sharing. Can you tell me if you have a video in your archives on how you organize all your dies?
I don’t have a video but I organize mine by style – words, nature, shapes, etc
My sister in law calls me the OCD queen, we craft together, as I have all of our stamps in alphabetical order with the matching dies in the same case, or if they have a embossing folder or punch I write it on the front of the set and the side of the label as well. I have even thought about matching DPS but decided to stop at that. I do keep the catalogs to refer back to for that info. I also photo copy all my stamp sets and dies when I get them home and keep them in a 3 ring binder for quick access. I can flip through and see if anything looks like something I want to make that day! And a binder for the ink and plain card-stock list as well, I cut a small piece of each color and add to my list with tape so I can
move it to a new page if we add to the collection. I was taught that there is a place for everything and everything in its place! Works for me! Love your tips! thanks!
This is a great idea, Connie. I used my label maker and put the words w/Dies but I never thought about my punches. Yea!!!! That’s a great idea, thank you. God Bless you sweet lady for sharing. Also I love your ideas and your Youtubies. Fun fun!!!👌♥️👏
