Come check out Connie's Favorite Things from the Spring/Summer catalog at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

Hello everyone!  Today I want to share one of MY FAVORITE THINGS from the Occasions Spring/Summer catalog.  I fell in LOVE with the Charming Café bundle.  It’s delicate, it’s versatile, and you will be amazed at all the different options you have in the framelit set!

Let me share a couple of cards that I created with this bundle.  I had SO much fun creating them and look at the WOW factor of these cards….but without much effort.  I love that!

This card is really sweet with that sweet die cut in the center, the little topiaries on the side, and of course, that little café table & chairs make you wish you were there.

The area that was die cut out was used to stamp and die cut the table & chairs.

A touch of linen thread gave this card a nice softness too.

My Thanks card was very simple to do.

  • Pink Pirouette – 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
  • Very Vanilla – 8″ x 5 ¼”, scored and folded at 4″

One of the die cuts in this set is a window with the table & chairs cut “into” it.  I LOVE this framelit!  It worked so well for this diorama card.

The store window was cut out of the scrap from the die cut window. You know I like to save cardstock!

I colored this in with the Stampin’ Blends.  Talk about easy!

A DOSIE OF STORY….I mentioned that my best friend, Brenda and her husband Mark, were flying in yesterday.  Mother Nature had other plans and she decided to SLAM Oklahoma City with an ice storm.  Their flight was in the air, ALMOST here, and the pilot must have got nervous and turned it around and went back to Denver.  We’re not sure why because the runways had been cleared but never the less, they plane went back.

Christina and I were daring the icy roads and weren’t making great progress as we headed to the airport .  Thank heavens Mr. Awesome (who was also stuck in stand still traffic) noticed on the Frontier app that the plane was going “the wrong way” and appeared to be heading back to Denver.

The roads were REALLY bad and I think every company in Oklahoma sent their employees home at the same time because every highway was jammed. We had only made it a few miles in 15 minutes and we hadn’t even made it to the highway yet.

After Mark & Brenda landed they had the fun of standing in line for 2 hours.  They are informed by Frontier that they could get them on a flight on Monday.  MONDAY?????  It was Wednesday!!!  I couldn’t believe it.  Mark & Brenda couldn’t believe it.  They had no choice but to fly back to Salt Lake City, which is 3 hours from their home, but that is the closest airport.  They had been up since 3am, exhausted, frustrated, and hungry.  What do they discover when they arrive in Salt Lake City around midnight?  NO hotels to be found, everything is booked.  I haven’t talked to them yet to find out what transpired there but I just pray they didn’t have to sleep in the airport.

Does anyone else see a movie script forming in this scenario?

The other side of this story…. all schools are closed again today but the kids were supposed to have a performance of “Bye Bye Birdie” this morning and tonight.  I am hoping they can move it but who knows.  This whole thing is a giant mess as more sleet and ice came in over night and continues this morning.

Hey!  Mother Nature!  Cut us a break, will ya?!

I’m trying to keep a positive attitude but inside I am so sad. I was really looking forward to my time with Brenda and Mark.  I know that God had a reason for all of this to crumble but my heart is still sad. The positive side to all of this is Christina came home yesterday and she’s iced in so she’s here, Ginny doesn’t have school, Mr. Awesome’s company shut down due to the weather so we get a fun family day today.  There’s already a fire in the fireplace and I’m thinking biscuits and gravy for breakfast.  Finding that silver lining!!!

Thank you all for tuning into my Facebook Live event last night.  I had a wonderful time. Thanks for putting up with all my Frontier Airline jabs.  lol
