Okay, so rather than stamping one day, I decided to go grocery shopping (why, I have NO idea) but while I was putting some things away, I noticed that my girls were leaving EMPTY boxes in the pantry (shocker, I know). So I started pulling these out and JUST as I was about to SQUASH (oh the horror) an Orville Redenbakker popcorn box, I stopped suddenly! Hey, wait a minute! This box is just the right size for CARDS! Remembering a project taught at Convention (she used a Pop-Tart box), I RAN to my stamp room (leaving all the perishables on the counter) and created this Card Holder.

The box had been opened on the side, so I taped it shut. Using my Hobby knife, I cut this lid out of the box (I made a template with paper first). Covered it all with some retired DSP (couldn’t waste my new stuff in case it didn’t work). Use SU Glue Stick to put it all down. I purposely DIDN’T cover the bottom so that I could show everyone it was a popcorn box (hehehe). I made some simple dividers wiht Sage Shadow for the inside and in no time, I had my very cool RECYCLED card holder! (Please look past the contraband ribbon but I inherited a BOATLOAD of ribbon from my mother-in-law and I needed to use it.)

I believe I used 2 sheets of DSP to create it. Of course, I messed up cutting a few times. I kept cutting it to SIZE forgetting to add an inch all the way around so I could glue it on the sides. So, if you make one of these put a HUGE note on your desk reminding you to add 1″ to EVERY cut you make!!!

I had a great time using my NEW Big Shot from SU! The Top Note is cut out of some cardboard and I covered it with So Saffron DSP. I don’t have my alphabet from SU yet but I did have a Cuttlebug alphabet so I used that. The scallop flowers are from SU too.

So, I hope the next time you are about to just TOSS (heaven forbid) a box, you will look at it differently!

Well, I need to go. I have to go back to the store to replace the milk, eggs, creamer, etc.
