The spotlight card making technique is a great way to add a unique touch to your cards. I’m going to demonstrate using this technique in different ways – maybe one you’ve never seen before – with craft dies and punches.

To get started you need a stamp set that has a good focal image or a stamp that you can use to stamp a “repeat pattern” and then you’ll need a shape craft punch or craft dies.

Spotlight Card Technique is a Coloring Technique

Believe it or not, the spotlight card is a fun coloring technique to bring attention to a focal point. The way we are using this today is to die cut a shape from a piece of cardstock to create a ‘window’ and then use a brush or sponge to add color behind that shape. The second way to create a spotlight color technique is to stamp images in black ink, die cut a panel from that cardstock, and then color only a portion of the images.
