Happy Friday my friends! Are you ready for the week to be over? It sure was crazy for us so I am ready for the weekend. Mr. Awesome had to work a lot of late hours, we had some last minute things to get Christina settled in college, and then Ginny’s Freshman Orientation. Talk about busy!
But hey! It’s Friday and Friday means it’s Stampin Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge time! Oh wow, what a simple sketch I have for you this week. I really enjoyed playing with this one. I didn’t have to over think it. I could just pull out some cardstock and some stamps and BOOM I had a card.
This weekend’s sketch has SO many possibilities!
- The focal image can be Designer Paper, a punched image, or stamped!
- The strip in the back can be stamped, cardstock, ribbon, anything!
- The sentiment can go just about anywhere on this card – get creative!
So, your challenge is…..over the weekend create something with this layout, share your creations on the Facebook group, and enjoy some great feedback from other Wild Girls. Our group of ‘wild’ stampers is now over 2,200 strong!
C’mon, you’re going to need some creative time this weekend! Why not play along?
Are you part of the Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Facebook group? If not, come join in on the fun and be inspired by stampers from all over the world!

Here is what I created for this Weekend’s Challenge…
(Please excuse the photography today. It’s raining here in Oklahoma City and so lighting was, well, non-existent. I had to get creative!)
My first card was a lot of fun because I used anew stamp set – Bountiful Border. It’s a 2-Step stamp set and those are always my favorites because they make adding layers of color SO easy. Can you see the flowers in the background and how the leaves are in Mossy Meadow yet the flowers are in Crushed Curry? Yep, that’s 2-Step stamping. Love it!
I also added some glitter because, well, everything looks better with glitter. I have to say, I kind of wish I had left it off. It’s a little thicker than I wanted it to be. I used a new product that will coming out in our Holiday catalog. GREAT product but it overpowered my pretty flower just a bit. It’s not horrible but I think next time I will skip that step. I dunno…. what do you think? Sometimes I’m my worst critic.
My next card was an inspiration piece. My wonderful friend and Stampin’ Up team leader, Leslie, made me a beautiful little piece of framed art for my stamp room. I was looking at it when I started to create this morning and I thought, “Hey, I could fit that into the challenge!” Inspiration is all around you. Just look for it!
Here’s my card version of this sweet little framed art. I used the Watercolor Wings Bundle (my new favorite bundle EVER!) and Big News. It needed a pretty big sentiment and this sentiment just seemed to fit.
The butterfly was stamped on Very Vanilla with the Mint Macaron and Lost Lagoon ink. That top layer is simple vellum cut with the Big Shot. I have to say, it is SO much prettier in person though. Oh, and that sweet embellishment inside the butterfly is one of the In Color Blossom Accents. Aren’t they just precious? LOVE these!
Did you notice that both of my cards today are Flash Cards? Yep the first one is a Flash Card and the second is a Flash Card 2.0. I thought you might like that.
Want to order any of the supplies I used? Let me make it easy! Just click on one of the product pictures and it will take you directly to my Online Store. It’s super easy to order! I appreciate your orders SO much! Truly I do!
Earlier this week I made a fun change on my blog. Up in the pink menu at the top, I now have a FLASH CARD GALLERY. Now all my Flash Cards are in one place for you look through when you want to create. I will continue to add cards as I create them.
Well my sweet friends, that’s all for me for this Friday morning. I am going to attempt (again) to clean my stamp room this weekend. UGH! I HATE cleaning my stamp room. I am so easily distracted when I try to clean. I have about a thousand projects going on my desk and if I clean it, I will never get back to them. Focus is not my gift…. but alas, it must be done.
