In January, I wanted to focus on organization during my 2-MINUTE TUESDAY TIP videos. Organization always seems to be at the top of the New Year’s Resolution list so I wanted to share some quick videos this month to help you KEEP that resolution. Today I want to share a great tip on how to organize your embossing folders.
Well, this statement may be true for a lot of us but let’s see if today’s tip can help you be just a little bit ‘neat’.
I hope this tip helped! It has been really helpful in my stamp room and keeps my embossing folders neat and clean. YES, my stampin’ peeps, you CAN be CREATIVE and NEAT!

What a FANTASTIC idea. I’m definitely going to do it! Thank you soooo much.
Loving your organization series & looking forward to more.
Another helpful hint for me is to keep them in alphabetical order! If you remember the name of the folder it is so much easier to find than flipping through all of them.
I love this tip. I am definitely going to do this soon. Thanks Connie
Thanks Connie. I have them in a box but I end up pulling each one out to look at it to see if that is what I want to do. I think this will help me get more use out of my embossing folders.
What a great idea. I tried putting embossed yardstick on a ring, but that didn’t work. This will end confusion. Always love your Tuesday Tips.
LOVE this tip! Do you have a “cheat sheet” with measurements and tips to organize the embossing folders? (IN my email, Connie Stewart has her own folder filled with your ideas!) Many times I get started on a project like this, get interrupted and forget how to do when I do get back to the job.
Jane, I don’t really have a cheat sheet. The measurements for the cardstock are listed in the blog post. I hope that helps a little. 🙂
I love the ideal but how did you emboss the flip over I can’t get mine to go thru my big shot
It’s tight but it does fit. You have to make sure you have it centered.
What do you mean you scored 3 3/4 &4. Love this idea
Score it at 3 ¾” and then score again at 4″. This will give a little extra bend to the cardstock to hold the folder.
Oh Yeah!!!!! This is one amazing tip Connie, thank you!!
One of my 2018 Crafting resolutions is to keep my craft room organized and neat, your way of organizing the embossing folders is fantastic.
I do have mine in one of those pretty photo storage boxes but I don’t have them labeled in any way so, when I need one, I have to go through the whole box to find it, especially if it’s all the way in the back.
Love the embossed pockets, that way you can easily see the design.
You are always finding new and fabulous ways to help us enjoy our stuff more and more.
Big hugs and thank you!!
Maria Rodriguez.
Connie, I sure my embossing folders in a way similar to yours, except I run the top (label area) of the piece through the embossing folders so I can see it easier. ?
What a great idea!
It’s always great to see different ways of organizing our “stash”. I have my embossing folders in a plastic bin. I labeled each one with a Sharpie. Last week I saw a tip I thought would work for me. I cut white cardstock (not nearly as festive as your yellow, Connie) into 3 x 6 pieces. I embossed them, punched a hole in the top and put them on a large ring. The tip I got last week was to number the folders and the samples on the ring. This way I can check out the designs of several folders to see which one I like with the card I’m making before I pull a folder from my bin. When I get new folders, I can put the next number on it, make a sample and I’m set to go. Good luck to everyone, like me, who wants to keep their craft room neater this year. Enjoy your day!
Awesome idea Connie. Thank you for making a video to explain it. ♥
Definite one tip I will be trying! Thank you so much. ?
Love love love! Thx so much!
Love your idea, Mine are stuffed in a big box that I ruffle through every time I want an embossing folder. This looks so much neater and easier to access.
Connie, I found you today through Pinterest, and oh boy am I happy to find you. Your video was so easy to understand (that’s saying something for me lol)
It was clear and the consistency was on point. As soon as the video ended I went straight to my craft room and did a mock up with paper, sizes, name and in my case a little note to say which magazine it came with. Now I need to do something similar so I can get the magazine as easy as the folder! I’m going to look through your blog posts to see if you have any ideas on magazine storing (other than magazine holders lol).
Thank you soooo much for your Tuesday Tips. I love them.
Xx ? xx
Andrea, thank you so much for your comment. It’s always helpful to know how people find me. I am so tickled you enjoyed the video and that it worked well for you. Unfortunately I don’t have any videos on magazine storage. I tend to cut out all the ideas I like from magazines and save those images. Space is not something I have a lot of so I have to pair things down.
That’s fine, I know theres probably loads of tips for storage on you tube but I’d rather be recommended to a site! Thank you for replying. Xx
Thank you for the great idea for embossing folder storage. I have already start reorganizing my folders in this manner. Keep the great tips coming.
Connie – What size labels do you use? Thank you
I love this idea! Mine are currently in a gallon size ziploc bag. This will definitely help as I continue to reorganize my crafty space. Thank you!!!!
What a grate idea, I will be trying this as soon as tomorrow .. thank you Connie
What do you do with the sleeves them come in? Aren’t they valuable if you go to sell retired ones? Do you keep your retired ones in with the current? Thanks for sharing your tips.
Because I sell my retired framelits down the road, I do save the plastic envelopes. As a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, I take out the retired stamps and framelits from my stash but if you aren’t a demonstrator, there is no reason to. 🙂
I am a demo and hope to get to meet you in Orlando in November!
I must be missing something…why did you score two places and there is only one fold?
Thank you, Dawn
It allows the folder to sit down inside the cardstock and not push the front open. Does that make sense? I’ve not had much coffee this morning so my brain isn’t 100% yet. lol
I wondered this to but, when I did a mock up of it I could see straight away how useful the folds are, Thank you once again Connie
Thanks, just what I needed. I love organization too
I’m so glad this video was helpful!
I actually use shoe boxes to store them or even long narrow boxes I get from our farm store that product is shipped to me. I just decorate the end of the box. Im a penny pincher!!
I love everything you do in craft room thank you so much for videoing your expertise in card making and for all the tips, and for also giving clear instructions..
I needed to see this today. I have been agonizing on what to do with my embossing folders. I think this will work for me. Now to find them all!
