Last week I shared with you how to organize your Embossing Folders (if you missed it, CLICK HERE). Today I want to share a tip on storing your stamps & Framelits together.
Many crafters like to keep their stamps and framelits together as they work. The benefit is that your framelits are at your fingertips while you are stamping with the matching stamp set. Let me share today’s 2-Minute Tuesday Tip.
I know that my organization tips may not work for everyone. We are all different types of crafters and organizers. Here’s another video sharing another way you can store your Framelits. This is the method that I personally use and I do because I like to see all my framelits at one time. Many times I am looking for a banner or a fun die cut for a sentiment and I don’t know exactly what I want. I like to see all my framelits so I can search for the framelit that suits my needs.
I know that other crafters store their framelits in the plastic envelopes they come in and they like to store those standing up in a box.
What type of die cut organizer are you????
So yesterday was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day which is a federal holiday. Neither Christina or Ginny had school and since Mr. Awesome works for the government, he was off too. What to do when the entire family is off for the day? We FINALLY wentt to go see “The Greatest Showman”. FINALLY! Here’s my review…
- WOW!
- AMAZING!
- WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO SEE THIS SHOW?!
- HOLY MOLY THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!
- THESE SONGS ARE SO CATCHY, I’LL BE SINGING THEM FOR DAYS!
- I DOWNLOADED THE SOUNDTRACK BEFORE I GOT TO THE CAR!
- NOW I SEE WHY EVERYONE WAS RAVING ABOUT IT!
There you go. 😀 Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!! It really was wonderful and the cinematography was incredible. I love a movie director who tries new things.
We had a great time at the show but when we got home, we got some unsettling news. We got an email from the storage facility where we keep our camper. Over the weekend there was a break-in. We don’t know if our camper was broken into but there are about 20 of them on the lot. We have high hopes that we weren’t one of them because we are on the end, under a bright light and right in front of the security cameras. We took out anything of value before the winter but that doesn’t mean thieves couldn’t come in and make a huge mess trying to find things of value. If you could say a little prayer for us. We will go up there tonight and see if we had any damage or thief. I’ll let you know the outcome tomorrow.

The framelit and stamp storage idea is genius!! I love organization and have magnetic sheets that I can use in my DVD cases. Why didn’t I think of that?!!!!
Love the tip today. Already use the vent cover material for the framelits, but never thought of putting them together, so much better than searching thru all of them to find the right one. Thank you. Also, prayed that you found all OK with your camper.
Love this idea, Connie. I have been using it love having the dies and stamps together. Also like using the inexpensive vent covers. You always have great tips for us. Thanks. So sorry about the camper storage place. I hope yours was not part of the robbery.Enjoy your day!
Love this tip !! Any suggestions on storing framlits / stamps that don’t come in a case?? I’ve bought from other stores and they come in a clear envelope. ! Thanks in advance.
-Rhonda
You can purchase the same clear DVD style cases from Stampin’ Up. Item 119105 – a set of 4. Hope that helps!
Love the organizational tips!! I’m always trying to find a way to be more efficient and actually find things in my scrap room. Thank you so much!
I do this, Connie but I also print out the number of framelits/thinlits and put that on the top of the magnet so I know how many there are!
Love your idea, I need to do this for sure! Question……what would you do if you need 2 magnetic sheets because all framlits / edgelits? Would you put another on the other side?
Yep, that is what I would do.
Hi Connie – I use the vent covers and put them in with the stamps is they are part of a set. I read that you should note on the spine that the box contains both for your own convenience as well as if you go to sell them. I don’t always have the matching stamp set or the framelits to a set. Also, I read that you should add a piece of paper between the framelits and the stamps as they can sometimes cut into the stamps. I would think copy paper would work and be less weighty and less bulky. Also, it has been suggested to go ahead and put the name of the set on the framelits piece or at least how many pieces there are in case one gets misplaced – you will know to look for it etc. Otherwise, I am not organized at all but at least my framelits are for the most part!!!
I place my photopolymer stamps in the case with the acetate side up so that protects them. If it were red rubber, yes, I would insert a piece of cardstock to protect my stamps.
I love your way of organizing framelits Connie!
?And, as for keeping up with them-… You would know immediately if one is missing- IF- you trace around each one in the set with the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker (132133, Price: $3.50) onto magnetic sheet when you first get them (or whatever white pen/marker of your choice.) Then you’ll be able to see right away if there’s one missing when putting them away.
(I can’t recall who shared that tip or where I’ve seen it.)
?
P.s.
Any good news about your camper? ? Hoping it’s all good❣️
Great idea!
Your thinlit storage plan rivals my storage. I place a piece of a sheet of sticky magnet in the box with the stamp set. Everything is also at my fingertips. Love your Tuesday Tips. You are inspiring
I keep my framelits in a plastic box/case on the heater vent magnets – never thought about writing how many should be in each set!! May have to change to keeping them with the associated stamp set for those that have them. I keep the plastic envelopes they come in for when I sell the retired ones.
Connie – good luck with the camper! I also saw the Greatest Showman over the weekend and totally agree with your review! Can’t wait to see it make its way to the stage…
I was taken to see the movie by my son, and already knew I was going to enjoy. My 20 yr old granddaughter had already been three times and will probably do a fourth. I loved, loved it! Musicals were always my favorites and this one had a really good story to boot. I also appreciate the lack of vulgarity and explicit sex.
Thanks for the organizational tips, I am in the process of using your tip for embossing folders. I take all my dies out of the sleeve provided and put in less bulky DVDs envelopes. I insert white card stock and only use thin magnetic strips when it’s a nesting die for example our stitched circle, ovals. Etc. I write how many dies , die name and stamp set name on the card stock. I also include name of the die in the stamp set case and all info on my master list. I actually store in the boxes cd cases came in as they were a little more narrower than photo boxes. Great tips.
Love your idea but what do you do later when 2 or 3 stamp sets go with that ONE die set??
You can adhere a magnet on each side and store the stamp set in the center. I would protect your stamps with some cardstock though. You wouldn’t want the framelits damaging them.
hi Connie great tip Thank You ..Hope all is OK with your camper van
Just am really enjoying these organizing tips!! How I can get it together to be better organized this year so I can get something done instead of ALWAYS LOOKING for something!!!
I also store my framelits and dies in the stamp cases with the vent cover magnet. However, I use either the Chalk Marker or, recently I used a Gold Sharpie, to mark around all the pieces. That way, I can just glance and make sure that all the pieces are in the case and if there are a lot of them, I know how they fit on the magnet.
Thanks for all the wonderful tips.
Great idea!
Thanks for another wonderful storage idea. Now I don’t have to go to two different places to get n stamp set ^ framelits.
The ones that have matching stamps sets, I store with the stamps. The rest (i.e. my shapes) I store in a nice holder I got from Thirty One
I too store my matching dies with my stamp sets; however I also make a photo copy of the dies before taking them off the backing sheet in which they are attached to. I then glue my photo copy to my magnet. This way, when I add the dies to it, it is no longer a puzzle to make them all fit and I can easily tell if I am missing any when I go to put them away. I hope this tip helps as well.
Smart idea!
Awesome storage idea Connie, this will save me a lot of storage space and also time, because I don’t have to go hunting for the die set when I need it.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
Hi Connie! Love this idea so much my hubby picked me up a package of the vent covers and I feel so organized. Once again a great idea and thank you for sharing!
My husband also picked me up some and how awesome to free up space and time looking for the matching sets! Thanks so much for another great tip!
I’ve been doing this for the last year and a half that white paper on the back peels off and is sticky
