Big Shot Cutting Plate are a staple in most of our stamping spaces and I am asked about them quite a bit. The main question is how to keep them from warping. I have some tips on how to care for your Big Shot Cutting Plates that just might help.

It’s been a rough morning, guys. No coffee. <scream!!!> Off to a doctor’s visit for blood work so no food or drink until after it’s over. Oh Lord help me! Gotta get through this and then my first stop is Starbucks. Nothing serious, by the way. Just a physical that is long overdue. Doctor visits aren’t my favorite thing and I have put it off for way too long.
With that said, I need to run but I will see you guys tomorrow! Make it a GREAT day!!!

Great video! Thanks for the tips.
Thank you for this wonderful tips Connie, I also discovered that, when you are not using your Big Shot, it helps the plates stay flat by storing them in the Big Shot, I roll them all the way to the middle and leave them there until I use them again.
I read somewhere that to get rid of the paper embedded into the plates, soaking them overnight will soften most of it then you can remove it by just gently scrubbing the plates, I haven’t tried this tip, my plates are brand spanking new, woo hoo!! but I will give it a try.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with us.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
Great video, Connie! Also some great tips, Maria Rodriguez…kudos to both of you!
Thanks for the great tips.
Great Tips! I like the idea of using the junk mail to keep the cut marks from showing up on the cardstock.
I just opened a new set of plates and posted about them on my blog last week – even took a picture of them. That first cut is always the hardest – LOL
I feel your “coffee” pain, I have a blood draw on Wednesday morning and hate that I need my breakfast coffee feeling! 🙂
Thanks again!
Hello, Connie!
I have often heard of people (youtube) who acutally wrap their plates with aluminium foil and then put them into the oven, after washing them first. They are supposed to flatten beautifully, but I have never tried this – have you?
Thanks! Tina
I’ve tried it and had zero success. The plates were just as warped. I even tried adding a weight to it. Nothing.
Awesome tips Connie! Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve been with SU! since Jan. I’m enjoying it and everyone is so helpful! I don’t have a blog or anything, but I did want to let someone know I appreciate everyone . Thank YOU ALL!
