When I was a kid, my Mom was a Campfire Girl leader. Does anyone remember the Campfire Girls? I was too young to be an ‘official’ Campfire Girl but my sister was a member and well, Mom had no choice but to bring me along.
I don’t remember a lot about the organization but I definitely remember the fundraiser – CHOCOLATES! Going door-to-door selling boxes of chocolates was a rite of passage. Much like the Girl Scouts and cookies, as a Campfire Girl, we were chocolate pushers.
My kids have done so many fundraisers at school – gift wrap, candy bars, candles, meat & cheese, you name it, they had to sell it. Ugh. I am sure there are plenty of you out there who are nodding your heads in agreement with me. Raise your hands if you have spent a pretty penny on stuff you didn’t even want! Yep, I see those hands!
Well, today I hope to entice you with a fundraiser that is right up your alley – your stamping alley!
Ginny’s high school choir has been asked to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City in April. At our booster meeting last week, the board shared that it was up to each of us to raise the funds in our own way. Yes, there will be car washes, bake sales, and whatnot but we won’t be able to raise all the money we need.
What is a stamper/choir mom to do? Do what she loves to do! I have been working feverishly on a really awesome set of tutorials PLUS videos featuring the Christmas Quilt Bundle.
What I love about this bundle is that I won’t be putting it away after December 25th! I can use it all year long so don’t let the name Christmas Quilt fool you.
A few good reasons to order this set of tutorials….
- 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards Ginny’s trip
- You’re a stamper so this is something you can really use
- You love learning new techniques and ways to use your stamps and framelits beyond the basics
- You will get project ideas for both Christmas and birthday
- You help keep the arts alive in our public schools. Let’s face it, when a choir is asked to sing at Carnegie Hall, the school board takes notice.

I just love being on live with you. I hope that you were able to tune in but if you weren’t, not to worry. I will be sharing the REWIND with you tomorrow so be sure to join me for that!
Here are the supplies I used for my cards. I’m sure that the Christmas Quilt bundle will be your new favorite! Click a pic to order what you need!

What an honor for Ginny and her choir, and of course the families!! Hope you’ll be able to post a link to the video of the performance in April!!
Connie, what a wonderful idea to help Ginny and by all means count me in. Yes, I remember all those fundraisers for the music kids. Our big one was the fruit sales we did at Christmas time. One of those fundraiser was to send the high school band to the Calgary Winter Olympics to play at the medal awards ceremonies. What a thrill it was for them to go. Living in Montana it wasn’t the distance for traveling but the meals and hotel rooms for all of the kids. I am so glad that Ginny is able to be in such an active music program in her school. Sadly, so many schools are dropping these programs. Also, I was a CampFire Girl and remember selling those Chocolates . I eventually became a CampFire Leader for my daughter. Thanks for sending me down memory lane with that picture.
My best wishes to Ginny and their trip to Carnegie Hall.
I tried to order tutorials and videos, but got a note saying page not available. Help! I really want them.
