CREATIVE JUICE – Week #37
I struggle with masculine cards so today I pulled out a stamp set that I ordered awhile back but never got ink on it. It’s called Enjoy Life. What drew me to this set was the guy on the bike (Mr. Awesome loves to cycle) and the fonts and sentiments are amazing too. This stamp set was created by my friend, Connie F., who reached the Million Dollar sales mark last year.

Each week I serve up a big glass of CREATIVE JUICE to get your creative juices flowing. Let me share this week’s card inspiration.
- Get creative with your color combinations.
- The torn edge could also be done with a decorative border edgelit.
- The strip could be a stamped image, embossed cardstock or Designer Paper.
You can print out the sketches each week OR you can save them to your computer. By doing this you will have sketch ideas at your fingertips, whenever you need them. Just click the pic to download or print it. Remember, you can always find them here if you go to the ‘Categories’ (located on the right side bar) and click on Creative Juice.
Here is what I came up with for today’s CREATIVE JUICE sketch…
I actually used the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper. That paid pattern was perfect for a masculine card!
Had to stamp inside, of course.
I love this sentiment so much!
- Early Espresso – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Crumb Cake – 2″ x 2″, 1 ½” x 5″, and 3 ¾” x 5″ (inside)
- Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper – 2 ½” x 4″
- Striped Burlap Ribbon – 2 ½”
If you like what you see today and want to add any of the items needed to make the card, you can order by simply clicking on a picture. It will take you right to my online store! I sure appreciate your orders. Thank you so much!
Have you been trying to leave comments on Simply Simple Stamping but they never posted?
Gotta love technology. I picked up a little glitch that was causing my website not to post any comments that were left. I am SO sorry it took me so long to realize what was happening but THANK YOU to those of you who emailed me to let me know. Now that I am back from my trip to Michigan, I could look into it. WE ARE BACK! All is well and I look forward to hearing from you!
We have a fun weekend planned for the family. Sunday, we are driving to Tulsa to see the musical “Wicked“. I think this is my 5th or 6th time to see this show but it’s one of my favorites. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s the story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch of the North in “Wizard of Oz” only this is the story of everything that happens before Dorothy showed up. It’s a wonderful story that reflects on how to see people. Was the Wicked Witch really wicked? Why does being green make her so hated by the world? And was Glinda really as “good” as she made herself out to be? What I love most about the story is that anyone who sees it, has a change of heart about how they perceive people. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Did you enjoy the sketch today? I hope you did and I hope you are inspired to go create something amazing.
Make this weekend the BEST weekend ever! Relax, enjoy, and most of all, be kind to one another. See you all next week!

Love, love, LOVE this card, Connie! I have this stamp set and have yet to ink it up myself. Thanks for sharing about the plot line of “Wicked”. I’ve often wondered about it, but I will probably never get to see it. Enjoy!
Sharon did you know you could read it! There is a book that it’s based on. And there is the copy of the play itself. You can even view some parts online I think. So don’t miss out it is really a great story.
Christina has the book and loved it!
I’m so thrilled that you love this Sharon! Thanks!
Great card! I’ve used that set twice. First time I used the girl for my 13 year old granddaughter, yesterday the biker for her dad’s birthday. Love the whole set!
Have only seen Wicked twice – I’m deprived!!! But I relate so much to Elphaba. We’re kindred spirits. Know the whole score by heart, too. No, it’s not Les Mis, or even South Pacific, but it speaks to me in a BIG way.
I love those musicals too. Wicked just falls in a different category.
thank you for your hard work doing these programs — I could watch your program for hours — oh I do — it helps me understand some of the things shown in the catalog and how to do cards differently — thank you again for all your help — my cards are very simple — yours are great
