CREATIVE JUICE – Week #39

I am back with a brand new Creative Juice sketch idea for you. Today’s layout is just about as easy as it can be. You have so many different options to choose from. I was in a purple mood today and had some fun with my Stampin’ Blends.

Each week I serve up a big glass of CREATIVE JUICE to get your creative juices flowing.  Let me share this week’s card inspiration.

• Get creative with your color combinations.  
• The background could be a stamped cardstock, Designer Paper or maybe try embossing it?
• That ribbon could also be a strip of cardstock, glimmer paper, or a punched border.

Here is what I came up with for today’s CREATIVE JUICE sketch…

Today I pulled out a stamp set that many of you may have overlooked – Calligraphy Essentials.  It’s on page 11 of the Catalog & Idea Book. I almost missed it myself!  🙂

I have been playing with my Stampin’ Blends A LOT lately. I wanted to try a little ombre look in the word “hello” and it turned out really nice.  Don’t judge the shading I tried too harshly. I am practicing using the Smokey Slate Light Stampin’ Blend to create a highlight. I think I over did it.  LOL  That’s what I love about rubber stamping. It’s JUST PAPER so if I mess up, it’s not a big deal, right? 

The Calligraphy Essentials stamp set is a sentiment set so I wanted to add some flowers to it. Varied Vases to the rescue!

• Whisper White Thick – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼” 
• Whisper White – 2 ½” x 4″
• Rich Razzleberry – 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” 
• Subtles Designer Series Paper Highland Heather – 4″ x 5 ¼”

Are you ready to create this simple layout? Use your favorite sentiment but if you overlooked Calligraphy Essentials stamp set, think about adding it to your Wish List, or use your favorite large sentiment. Looks like I will be spending some time this weekend practicing with my shading technique but hey, I have that ombre look down pretty good.

I am just loving these Stampin’ Blends!  They make creating so much fun. It’s an entirely new experience in coloring (something I used to not enjoy… but I do now!)
