Helloooooo my sweet stampin’ friends! Are you ready for a new FLASH CARD 2.0? Today’s card is a throwback to one of my most viewed Flash Card videos but it was time to update the design a little.
When it comes to wedding cards, we typically think flowers and swirls but what about the groom? Poor groom. He is kinda left out, don’t you think? Why not create this card just for him? It’s super fast and easy too.
Let me share today’s Flash Card 2.0….
I also used the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set for my sentiment. The font is perfect for this card especially when embossed in Gold Embossing Powder.
I forgot to show this in the video but check out my embossed envelope liner. Is that elegant or what?
Let me share today’s FLASH CARD 2.0 video with you…

So, I got some upsetting news from the doctor yesterday. I am SO bummed right now. Spent all day yesterday POUTING about it — my cholesterol was high. Really high. I’m embarrassed to tell you how high. (314) SERIOUSLY? Ughhhhhhh. I have to make some changes but I’m already dieting and exercising but I guess I have to do more. I am on my bike at least 4-5 times a week and ride for at least an hour. I can’t really do any more or I won’t have time to stamp….and that ain’t gonna happen!
Anyone have any great ideas on how to lower cholesterol? I would love to hear them! Just don’t tell me to eat kale. BLECK! My life is over. No more happiness. I have to live on kale and tree bark for the rest of my life. (I’m not a drama queen or anything)
It is what it is…. just not happy about it. I think I in serious need of some stamp therapy. Surely that will drop my number by at least…two. Well, I’m off to create some fun ideas for the Stampin’ Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge. See you guys tomorrow!

I haven’t watched your video yet-1st things 1st. That downer was VERY un-Connie! Cheer up things could be so much worse. Just start slow eating not so much cholesterol foods. Add yum fruits and veggies-more of that then anything else you eat. You can do this! Stay positive
Sorry. I know. I was just feeling sorry for myself and yes, things could be much worse. They could have told me to stop drinking coffee. OH the horror!
or never ever have a bite of chocolate would be horrid!
Love your card Connie – so fun! So sorry to hear about your cholesterol news – one thing you can do is try to eat more whole grains: having oatmeal for breakfast, cheerios or whole grain bread for toast or sandwiches. The grains and other high-fiber foods help sop up some of the cholesterol from your system and clear it out. New crafty goodies will help boost your morale 🙂
One thing I didn’t meantion in my email was, that I eat walnuts on my cereal everyday. Walnuts are omega-3 which help cholesterol and high blood pressure. Try to keep as much stress out of your life as possible, as I know it is hard. Hang in there Connie. Be glad you went and had it checked and can do something about it now.
Oatmeal every morning. Check Pinterest for great recipes, I love baked oatmeal. And seriously you should be in medication, some of us are just predisposed to have high cholesterol, no amount of exercise or healthy eating will help!!! Good luck!
Connie, Look into BioLipotrol. I can’t, nor do I want to take statin drugs for this. My Chiropractor put me on this product and it is doing a good job. It is a combination of Niacin, Red yeast rice, green tea and CoenzymeQ10. All natural products.Good luck on getting it down. Karen
I agree with Karen – you don’t want to take statin drugs – they cause muscle & joint aches – I have used MegaRed (over the counter) for the past 3 years & my numbers have come down – I also try to eat more fruits & veggies – oatmeal cereal of some sort, like Life or Cheerios – for a treat oatmeal cookies with Craisins. Hang in there!
Try Nician (non flushinng). Get it at Walmart and it is cheap. Helped my level a lot. Now within normal levels. Dixie
Connie, oatmeal is very good to help with your cholesterol. I make a Oatmeal Banana Smoothie in my Vitamix that is very yummy!! If you want the recipe, let me know. They say Coconut Oil is good too, I add a teaspoon to my coffee in the morning, per each cup I drink.
Keep yourself busy, busy, busy. The less down time you have the less time you’ll have to snack. I know you love coffee. Look for alternatives to add to it that may not be so bad for you. Finally, try ground turkey instead of beef hamburger. It takes a little getting used to at first, but after a while that is all my family will eat here at home. Don’t have the red meat hamburger available. If they want to eat, and keep you around healthy too, they’ll have to make some changes with you.
Love the card and as far as Cholesterol goes, for years I took medication and I am happy to say I no longer take it. Weight Watchers, no sugar, no saturated fats, more protein. I was a sweet, chocolate person and I have altered my way of eating. I don’t miss the sweets as fruit is sweet.
It took a couple of months to get rid of the cravings, it’s not easy, but the benefits are so worth it losing the weight and feeling good. Good Luck
Yes for Cholesterol lowering…..I will email you.
Hi Connie – I adore the embossed envelope flap – it’s very elegant and yes, it is as special as the Groom himself.
P.s. It ‘s good to see a ‘real’ person behind the camera – we all need to be watching our cholesterol levels, especially those of us who love coffee, chocolate and/or cake. Crafting and caring about one another should also be a part of Stampin’ Up! Thanks to the lovely ladies who took the time to reply with some great advice we can all avoid having to take statins if our cholesterol is getting or is too high.
Hi Connie
Red yeast rice and C0-Q10 DAILY works wonders but you must be faithful !!
I am sorry to hear about your high cholesterol. I brought mine down and my A1C by following the Dash Diet by Marla Heller (Mayo Clinic). Just good food and healthy eating.
Thank you so much for this groom card! My Granddaughter is getting married the end of September and I wanted to do a card for the both of them, plus each one individually. This is adorable!!!
Good luck on getting your cholesterol down!! I know you can do it!!
