I just love creating Flash Cards. I never tire of them. After 5 years of teaching Flash Cards, I am still amazed at what can be done with those 2 little pieces of cardstock.
Today’s card is really elegant and pretty. The Lovely Friends stamp set is a favorite of mine… oh who am I kidding, I have TONS of favorites! lol Seriously though, I love this set for it’s big and bold sentiments. I think I was so focused on the sentiments that I never realized how beautiful the flowers were. Aren’t they gorgeous?
I also added the Lovely Words thinlits to this card. That bold black really compliments the Pool Party and Island Indigo.
I added a delicate touch with the Delicate White Doilies. It softened the card nicely.
Let’s get going with today’s FLASH CARD video….
Here are my measurements in case you missed them.
- Pool Party – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”
- Basic Black Flash Card – 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”
- Whisper White Flash Card – 2 ½” x 4″

Most weekends we look forward to. Relaxing, sleeping in, enjoying the summertime. Well, this weekend I am not necessarily jumping for joy. We need to install the new dryer this weekend BUT before we do, we really… and I mean REALLY need to paint the laundry room.
Let me give you some back story because I know that some of you will be able to relate to this. Let me take you back 10 years ago. It was January and Mr. Awesome decided to surprise me with a new laundry room while I was away at a Stampin’ Up event. Well, an ice storm caused me to cut my trip short. The cabinets were installed but the project was never quite finished. I have mentioned it to Mr. Awesome a few times that we need to finish it. “Don’t nag me. I’ll get it done. You don’t have to remind me every year!” lol
Well, this weekend is the weekend. We really don’t want to install the new dyer when the walls really need paint and the cabinets need staining. It will probably be an “all weekend” project but there’s no more excuses. I want my new dryer installed and there is NO WAY it’s going in until the project is done.
So while you’re relaxing by the pool, having a bar-b-que with friends, or enjoying some stamping time, take a moment to think of me. You might even say a prayer that we don’t kill each other working together in that small space. lol
Have a great weekend everyone!

LOVE this card, fantastic color combo!! Lovely embossing folder! Good luck painting the laundry room….I painted mine then my husband decided to fill in the damaged parts of the walls….so I need to repaint!
It’s a bit of a chore but it’ll be so worth it when it’s all done! Thanks Jennifer!
Hey Connie, Love the updated site. As always, love your creative ideas. I use them a lot. Thanks!
Thank you so much Jan!
Love the card Connie. Enjoy your day painting on a bigger scale and I know that you’ll love the room once it is finished and it is only a weekend away!
Well it’s turning into a two weekend project but it’ll be so worth it when it’s done!
Love both cards, but my favorite is the one using Berry Burst. It is a vibrant color! Laundry Room…well I know you don’t want to mess with it, but just think once it is done you will be so thankful that Mr. Awesome brought your laundry room back to use and even pretty “If laundry room’s are supposed to be pretty”, Stay inside, the heat index is way crazy!
It’ll be so great when it’s done Kimberly, I can’t wait.
Love the Berry Burst card, the colors are so bright and make a person feel happy. When my husband and I work on projects there can be tense moments, but also there is lots of laughter. Have fun with the project. Do we get a after shot?
I will definitely post one as soon as it’s done Beki! 🙂
How do you store your flashcards?
I have a video on that. https://youtu.be/vY9W2mCq6vQ
Thanks Connie – I had seen the set for the big sentiments but totally ignored the rest of the set. I love marigolds and zinnias and this flower reminds me of them. I so want to get this set for that reason now. We usually have a row of various kinds of marigolds around our garage but due to roofing and painting this year we didn’t have them. So, I really want this set to make some cards with this flower on them. Is that fun or what? I wish we only had to paint a laundry room – we need to do the whole outside of the house and garage. It is too dang hot so it will wait til this fall. Anyway, thanks for some great cards and ideas.
That heat makes home repairs so difficult! I’m glad you like the set!
I love this card! This would make a beautiful birthday card. Thank you.
Thank you so much Hazel!
Love this card. Those word thinlits are awesome. Anyone would love to receive a card like this in the mail ( instead of a bill!) with some kind words from a friend. That is the power of a handmade card. You did a great job with video. Keep them coming!
I completely agree Pat!
