I really love coming up with Flash Card Mash Ups. What a great way to use Flash Cards but mix up some colors too!

I just have to tell you about last night! We went to see “Fiddler of the Roof” and it was the most AMAZING production I have ever seen. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.
Typically a show has a special performance for the hearing impaired. There are people who interpret with sign language so that they can enjoy theatre as well. Well, Fiddler did something COMPLETELY different. First of all, 2 of the supporting lead actors were completely deaf. They signed their lines while 2 other actors spoke their words. The other actors in the show would have to sign their lines to these two when they were on stage (FYI, these 2 actors have performed on Broadway in another show using this same idea). Then there were 2 more interpreters who also signed the lines for the leading actors and they were “part” of the show as well. Characters interacted with them and it was just amazing!
Like any musical, choreography is a big part of the show so they made sign language part of the choreography. It was so magical to watch. My favorite scene though, was the wedding and the song (you probably know it) “Sunrise, Sunset“. On the last chorus, the orchestra went silent, as did the actors, and the entire song was signed. You could have heard a pin drop! My eyes are watery just thinking about it. It was just breathtaking.
So so very glad we bought tickets to the show! It was a great night!
