Do you want to learn how to make a cardinal card using the flash card system? I have been creating with the Free as a Bird stamp set a bunch but I found myself coloring in the same colors as the Designer Series Paper. As beautiful as that paper is, I decided to go with a cardinal card instead and I LOVE how it turned out. Today’s Flash Card is simple and fun to create.

Cardinals have always been my favorite bird. I just can’t resist that deep, rich red color. Poppy Parade was the absolute perfect match!

- Poppy Parade – 4 ¼” x 11″, score at 5 ½”
- Basic Black – 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”
- Whisper White – 2 ½” x 4″, cut to ½” x 4″
- Optional: 3 ¾” x 5″ for the inside
Free as a Bird is also available in a bundle – order the stamp set and Stitched Nested Labels together and save 10%.

Got a problem. Instead of the cardinal video, we are seeing the Above the Clouds video from the 10th.
Sorry about that Sarah! I think I grabbed the wrong link when I was making this post. It is fixed now. Thanks for letting me know. https://youtu.be/y0WpBNzcEf8
Oops, this is the wrong video for the cardinal card 🙁
Sorry about that! Not sure what happened. I guess I grabbed the wrong link. It is fixed now. Thanks for letting me know.
I had the same problem but “flew” into your website and found your cardinal card! Love it! You are so much fun, Connie, beautiful lady with lovely cards and organized videos. Living in NE Ohio, our cardinals against the snow are one of the enjoyments of winter along with fireplaces, hot chocolate and stamping!
Cardinals against the snow are stunning! We get a few here in Oklahoma but not a lot… and mostly in the summer. Enjoy them! They are so pretty!
Your card is beautiful, BUT, that bird is not a cardinal. Cardinals have a crest – I’m looking at one now on our feeder.
Susan, you are right. I don’t know a lot about birds, just that cardinals are red. My apologies to the cardinal and to you.
Hi again, I was so glad to see in your picture you have a cardinal statue so you know male and female cardinals have bright orange beaks and a tuft on their heads. I liked your stylization. You have great videos.
Cherrie, yeah, sorry. I don’t know a lot about birds so I guess this was just a pretty red bird.
My only comment is that the bird is not a cardinal. It is a red bird and u can see from your prop bird that a cardinal has an orange or yellowish beak. Love all your videos but just wanted u to know.
Jane, I guess I know more about stamping than I do about birds. Sorry about that.
