It’s Demolition Central here in the Stewart House!
I can’t believe I didn’t get a BEFORE picture!! Ugh. Luckily I found this photo. Looks like I was set up for a stamp class. That big armoire in the back is actually my desk. It’s closed because my desk is ALWAYS a mess. Shocker, right?
Can you see that beam on the right? That’s the demolition we did where it landed on me. No serious injury… just bruised. I am SOOOO happy that beam is GONE. I hated that thing!
There goes the carpet! Happy day!
The wood floor is laid and now the cabinet braces can go up.
Hey look! Some cabinets are in! Getting excited!
My house has been taken over by cabinets and Roxie seems very confused. “Are these going to STAY here?”
It’s starting to look like something!
They are all in! Those 2 openings are for our desks. The big spot is mine and the smaller space for Rich. He works from home occasionally so he needs a space to call his own.
Baseboards and the doors on the cabinets are today’s project so we’re nearing the end. Oh, and LOTS of clean up. There is sawdust EVERYWHERE in my house! Yuck!
So, that is what we’ve been doing this week!
I mentioned that my best friend and her husband are here visiting. Mark has been helping Rich with the big stuff and Brenda and I got to do some fun stamping yesterday.
She helped me stamp some wonderful Thank You cards for March. Isn’t it stunning? Flash Cards! YAY! I love how these came out. When you place an order in my online store, you always get a blank thank you card so that you can mail some love to a friend.
Mr. Awesome is at Home Depot but should be home shortly. Time to get back to work. Thanks so much for allowing me a little time off this week for my remodel. I will be back tomorrow with a Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild Weekend Challenge so be sure to join me then.
Love all the shelves. Thanks for sharing. What is the white background in your videos? I thought that was your studio and was envious of your space. There is actually room on those shelves behind you. I call my basement cardroom, my dungeon. Yet a great deal of creating gets done in there.
You are going to love your space and whaat a great friend to come and help.
Oh, I’m not changing my stamp room! Heavens NO! I love that room!! This is my office space where my computer lives. It’s our formal dining room. We’re not really formal dining people so we used that space as an office.
It’s wonderful that you all work so well together. My husband has the tools for some stuff but not major overhauls. Wish he did and liked to do that stuff but oh well. Enjoy your spaces
I am so happy for you Connie. You so deserve it!! I can’t wait to see your finished Happy Place. 🙂
Carol
Love this, Connie – so inspiring to “clean” our office (which is a bedroom upstairs). But first I need to finish my “stamp, craft, happy” room. I have been working on it for a WEEK! OMG I am out of room and have SO much stuff. Had to go through scraps and whittle them down to a manageable level, ribbons – I never need to buy ribbon again (yea, right!) and flowers! Flowers coming out of my ears! Plus, I decided that I really need to start making more things to use up some of the paper! I think I have every paper Stampin’ Up has made for the last 3 years plus much more that I buy at various places! It looks out of control in there still. But, you do always inspire me and this is just the thing I needed to see! Thanks Connie – you are the best!
It will be worth it in the end Michelle! Enjoy your new space!
All the work is worth every hour spent making a new working area, I’am sure you both will enjoy it in the end. Happy for you !
Joan
Boy Connie , I wish my husband had a 1/4 of the ambition you and your husband have. It will be great when you get it done, I’m sure. Ya’ll enjoy! The pear card is cute, too but I still love my apple card you sent! Can’t wait till I get that stamp set.
Looking good, Connie. I know you will be so pleased at having it finished and then enjoying your new space. So glad to know it isn’t replacing your Stampin’ Studio!
I, too, was wondering where all your IKEA units were, after the freezing rain drive home with your trunk open! I’m getting an IKEA store within three miles of my house, so can’t wait to spend my days there!
This isn’t my stamp room, this is where my computer lives. 🙂 I would never change my stamp room! It’s pure heaven!
From your pictures your formal dining room is being transformed into a very lovely clean looking office. It is so nice that you and your husband have a vision and that vision works out just the way you wanted it to. Your new space looks so nice.and I hope we see the end result.
Just a question. What is the best way to clean the poly stamps? Some of mine are stained.
Stampin’ Mist! It’s wonderful! You can find it on page 176 of the catalog.
