Of all the bundles in the Occasions catalog, this one tops the list. Hot air balloons just make me happy. They must be making a lot of people happy because this set is one of our best sellers from the Occasions catalog.
I love the Serene Scenery Designer Paper Stack and this beautiful sky made this card look amazing!
A few layers behind the balloon and WOW is it cool!

What a FUN weekend Mr. Awesome and I had! One of the things I asked for Christmas this year was a monthly date down Route 66. I wanted to explore some of the hidden gems in Oklahoma. There are some cool places here but sometimes you have to get off the beaten path and see what’s out there.
Saturday, we jumped in the truck and headed to Stroud, Oklahoma.
Our first stop was a local winery called Stable Ridge for a wine tasting. What makes Stable Ridge so unique is that all their wines are made with Oklahoma grown grapes. Who knew you could even GROW grapes in Oklahoma?
The wine was AMAZING and before we knew it, we were bringing home a full case. Oops.
We drove through several small towns and there is just something that I love about driving through the downtown area of a small town. There’s always a little diner, a furniture store, and an antique store. Every single town had it. Then it was onto the Rock Cafe for a late lunch. The Rock Cafe has been on Route 66 since the Dust Bowl era and the Great Depression. Originator Roy Rieves bought the land for $100 and $5 for the sandstone to build it. Crazy, isn’t it?
The Rock Cafe was featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” and the owner is considered to be the originator of the Fried Pickle. I can’t even begin to tell you how AMAZING these were! We swore we wouldn’t eat them all….. but we did.
Fun Fact – when the team from Pixar was driving down Route 66 doing research for the movie “Cars” they stopped in the Rock Cafe. John Lassester must have thought quite highly of the owner, Dawn, because he created the character “Sally the Porsche” after her.

Your trip on route 66 sounds really cool!
Route 66 has always fascinated me, since we drove part of it on our honeymoon trip in 1974 When you mentioned it, it reminded me of something I just shared on my FB page.

You’ll have to drive a bit further, but it would be worth the trip!
Okay, that was SO cool! I had NO idea that existed! Yeah, New Mexico is a bit out of our way but if we are ever driving through, I have to try this!
