I am thrilled to share a new NOW or WOW video with you. This card started as a NOW but as I looked at it, I realized that with a few extra steps it could be a WOW.
Let’s start with the NOW card.
I love the new Happy Birthday thinlit. That font is fabulous!
The Pick a Pattern Washi Tape is most definitely a winner!
This is a great NOW card, but look at the WOW card!
Can you see that wonderful shadow behind it?
And that dimension is wonderful! I used the new Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to do that.
Let me share today’s NOW or WOW video with you….
Here are my measurements in case you missed them:
- Thick Whisper White – 11″ x 4 ¼”, score and fold at 5 ½”
- Tempting Turquoise – 3 ¼” x 3 ½”
- Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets – 3 ¼” x 3 ½”
To make this a WOW card just add:

Today is a VERY special day in our house. Today is Ginny’s 16th birthday! You guys already know how proud I am of this girl. I could gush for hours on her, I really could. She is one amazing kid! This morning, we are headed to…. you guessed it, the DMV to have her take her driver’s test. She is feeling really confident in all areas of driving except one. Anyone want to take a guess? It’s the one thing we all struggle with when it comes to being behind the wheel – the dreaded parallel parking. Ugh. I am 50 years old and I STILL have a hard time parallel parking! I typically just keep driving around until I find a different parking spot.
She has been taking driving lessons from a local company (our schools no longer offer Driver’s Ed) and she gets amazing scores on her driving but today is the BIG DAY. I know she will do well but I know she has got to be so nervous.
I will give you the update on Monday but for now, I need to go because she has to be there early. Say a little prayer for her!

Love your card today, Connie. I have washi tape but seldom remember to use it. Putting the black shadow behind the HB diecut really makes it pop. I, too, love the that font. Happy Birthday and good luck to Ginny today. I’m sure she’ll do fine. Funny story – when I got my driver’s license 100 years ago, I drove a Volkswagen Bug for my test. The DMV guy was 6″6′ and said he needed a can opener to be able to get in the car. LOL. That broke the ice and I passed with no problems. Have a wonderful weekend of celebration.
Me too! I own rolls and rolls of it and I somehow forget to use it. It’s GREAT stuff and adds such wonderful color to a card. I need to start leaving in OUT so that I remember to use it more.
Aww, my first car was a VW bug too! Loved that card. One guess what I drive today? Yep, VW bug!
Good luck Ginny…love the card. I too have a bunch of washi…I will be using them more often. Thanks so much.
I drove illegally for 3 yrs. before getting my license…I had the permits (2) just couldn’t get to the DMV…after I got married…I got my license! I used my Mother-in-Laws Corvair…it was an automatic…My husband and I were driving standard, shift vehicles! Needless to say…I passed…with one error…I forgot to use my signal pulling away from the curb at the start of the ‘road test’! There were no cars coming…I guess I thought it didn’t matter…use the signal! Oh, the parallel parking…didn’t have to do it! I did everything else right!
That is a great card. Simple but neat looking. I have washi tape and haven’t used it yet but will after seeing your card. Thanks so much!
