Are you ready for a new Teach Me That? Every Thursday I share a new technique to help take your stamping creativity to a whole new level.
Today in Teach Me That, I will be showing you how to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig — a great tool with a strange name.
The cool thing about the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is that it will help you position your stamps perfectly every time and it’s really quite easy to use.
Before I get started, you will notice that the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is black and mine is purple. Well, WAY back in the day, it used to be purple. Yes, I have had this same tool and the same imaging sheets for 15 years. No hinges, nothing bulky, just this super cool little bar.
Are you ready to learn how to use it? Here we go!
- Begin by stamping your first stamped image in the 2-Step process.
- Place Imaging Sheet (this comes with your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig), smooth side up, securely in the corner of the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.
- Align your stamp in the corner and stamp onto the Imaging Sheet and stamp. This will leave the image on the Imaging Sheets allowing you to see where you need to stamp onto your cardstock.
- Position the Imaging Sheet over the stamped cardstock, moving it around until you have it lined up right where you intend to stamp.
- Line the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig up with the Imaging Sheet.
- Remove the Imaging Sheet but leave the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig in place.
- Align the inked stamp in the corner of the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and stamp.

Now you’re ready to create a card using the technique!
I needed a quick baby card and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig made it so easy to do. Did you know that Baby Bear was the most popular stamp set from our 2016-2017 catalog? I can see why. That bear is just so sweet.
By the way, this bear actually has a 3-step but I wanted it to be a little softer so I just used 2 of the stamps.
Here are the measurements for my card but get creative with your project:
- Blushing Bride – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Sahara Sand – 4 ⅞” x 3 ⅝”
- Very Vanilla – 4 ¾” x 3 ½”
- Blushing Bride Ribbon – 16″

Here’s another version of how you can use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to create a shadow effect. No special stamp needed to create a shadow — just pull out your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and you’re ready to go.
This card features the Scenic Sayings stamp set and the Greatest Greetings stamp set. Both of these sets will be retiring on May 31st. They have always been a favorite of mine! You know how much I love big stamps. They make cards go together so fast.
Don’t you just love that bright shadow on the card?

- Daffodil Delight – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Whisper White– 4 ¼” x 3 ½”
- Melon Mambo – 3” x 3″

Today is the day…. today the bike comes out of winter retirement and hits the road. Oh my, I am so nervous. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on it. I have no doubt that my behind will NOT be happy with me but I’ve got to get it reconditioned to the bike seat. Now that Christina is home from college for the summer, we are going to try to ride in the mornings. As I type this, she is still in bed so we’ll see how this goes. Yep, that’s one exhausted kid!
I am excited to get back out though. I truly enjoy riding….it’s the building up the endurance that is hard. I am ready for the challenge and I know that Christina is too.
Boy, I’ve missed these rides and I am looking forward to the fresh air and sunshine!
