Are you as happy as I am that it’s FRIDAY? It was just a crazy and busy week in our house and I am excited for the weekend. One daughter is off to college, another one getting ready for junior year of high school. Yep, summer vacation is winding down. School is about to start but it’s still hot here in Oklahoma. We were blessed with a break from the heat today. A nice rain shower cooled things off. Everything was so green and pretty. It inspired me to create today’s card and I have a video to share how to create it.
I love the bright colors, don’t you? After I created it, I realized I could have changed Melon Mambo to Cajun Craze for a beautiful fall card too. Saving that idea for November. <wink>
I have a simple technique to share with you on how to create those black Faceted Gems in today’s video. It’s pretty simple to do and I love how it added that pop of black to the card.
Are you ready to check out today’s video? Let’s go!
Here are my measurements in case you missed them:
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Tangerine Tango – 2 ¾” x 5 ½” and 1″ x 3 ½”
- Melon Mambo – 2 ¾” x 5 ½” and 1″ x 2 ¾”
- Crushed Curry – 2 ¾” x 5 ½” and 1″ x 3″

We have been dreaming about this weekend for 2 months. We just needed a break in the heat and finally, this weekend, the weather is in our favor. IT’S TIME TO GO CAMPING AGAIN!!! The Stewarts don’t camp much during the hot summer months, It’s just too hot and so we stay home, waiting and wishing for temperatures in the 80’s. Typically, it’s still in the 90’s in August but the weather took a little break and is blessing us with 80’s this weekend. WAHOO! It’s time to hook up the camper and head out of town. I am just giddy, I’m so excited.
I have my stamping bag packed with some wedding invitations I really need to finish up for a friend of mine. I will spend the weekend tying 125 ribbons around the invitations. That’s a lot of bows! It sounds like we might get some more rain this weekend so it’s a “stay in the camper” kind of weekend. That sounds like stamping weather to me!
I hope that you have a relaxing weekend planned as well. Stay safe and have FUN!!! See ya back here on Monday!

Hi Connie! I love this card and I’ve missed stamping so much. Recently had rotator cuff surgery and couldn’t use that arm. I’m happy to say that I’m up and at it again and have wanted to try several of your creations. Thank you for keeping me inspired.
Ouch! So glad you’re back to Stamping!
Connie, love the colors you used. Have a great time camping.
Thanks! It is a happy combination ?
Love how versatile and EASY this card is!!!! Another winner, Connie. Thanks for thinking of the busy girls out there.
I’ve always got your back!
Hello from Ontario Canada. Love it! This would also look great with the new Painted Harvest if you don’t mind fussy cutting. Our Thanksgiving is in October and I can see this as a perfect hostess gift card, using your suggestion of substituting Melon Mambo for Cajun Craze. I might just have to try this! Thanks for the inspiration.
Great idea Cathi!
