Happy Wednesday everyone! On Monday I shared with you lots of pictures of my stamp studio and WOW, your response was overwhelming! I’m so glad that you found inspiration and organization ideas from it. It is truly my happy space and it makes creating so much more enjoyable when everything has a place, my desk has lots of room to work, and my Tiffany blue walls & retro decor give me warm fuzzies every time I’m in there.
I realized that I never showed you the “before” and “after” pictures of my 10′ x 14′ stamp studio.
Here was my room BEFORE. My signature pink and black! Guys, this is my room CLEAN. I know. It doesn’t look clean. It looks like a cluttery MESS! I had very little space and even though it was organized, it just looked sloppy.
Here is my AFTER! Wood floors, new paint, and of course, it has been IKEA-FIED! It’s as if we added 3 more feet to the room! I have space for everything now!
My Felix the Cat clock was my inspiration piece. A great tip I picked up on a decorating show years ago was this…. before you start redecorating, you need an inspiration piece. A piece that the whole room will be build around. Felix was my guy! I build everything around him. Most of my wall space is taken up with shelves so there’s not a lot of room for decor on the walls so I used the space above my cabinets to hold things like my great grandmother’s sock monkey, a BIG jar of Double Bubble, and an old Candy Land game.
Today I thought I would give you a video tour of the room so I can share with you some things in a little more detail. Warning: It’s a 17-minute video so you might go grab a cuppa before you start. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed my tour! It’s amazing what you can really fit into a 10′ x 14′ space. I can’t speak highly enough about Ikea furniture and the quality, not to mention the great price! I think we were able to redo the entire room for about $4,000 and that includes the flooring, paint, curtains, decor, and storage boxes.
Tormorrow Mr. Awesome (my fabulous husband, Rich) will share his video on the construction so if you want to learn more about how he designed it and the steps involved, join him for that.
Today is a little bittersweet you guys. Today, my baby girl starts school….HIGH SCHOOL. My youngest is in high school? When did this happen? Wasn’t it just yesterday she was sitting on the floor with her blanket watching Sesame Street? Wow. It really goes fast, doesn’t it? I am so proud of her though. When she was in Kindergarten, her dream was to grow up and be a cowgirl ballerina. Not sure that is a thing but that is what she wanted to be. Today, as a Freshman in high school, she wants to be a meteorologist. She is fascinated by weather and since we live in Oklahoma, there’s plenty of weather to study.
I suppose she could wear cowboy boots and tutu while being a weather girl. Who wouldn’t tune in to see that?
Have a great day everyone! See ya tomorrow! I’m going to go have a good Momma cry now.
Your room is TOTALLY AMAZING Connie. Can’t wait to see the video that Mr. Awesome makes tomorrow. THANKS FOR SHARING!
I just love your stamp room. You and Mr.Wonderful did just a perfect job.
I am sure many of us will be using some of your great ideas.
Cool Room, Love It. Lots of ideas on how to make mine more usable. Thanks Connie
I was just admiring your stamp room, what a great room. Lots of good ideas may have to borrow some if its ok with you.
By all means!
OMG, I absolutely LOVE your craft room. Right now mine is part of an office/craft room that’s another room in our master bedroom. It works, but it’s still too much of an office for me. You’ve given me a lot of ideas and inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing this!
That’s what I started with too and I really hated how bulky office furniture was. It took up so much room but didn’t really give me space to work. Kitchen counters is a great alternative.
Wowee!!! Connie. Such a beautiful space to work in and everything is at hand. I would expect nothing else from you and hope you spend many happy hours doing just that. Have a great day and love as always, Jessie x
You’re so kind, thank you!
Love the tour of your stamp room. I’m in the process of getting things organized, but feel I will always be “in the process”.
Oh you are right there. I have changed things more times than I can count.
Thanks for always sharing so much great information.
Hi Connie. Spectacular!! I see such a difference in space, clutter free area and brightness in your craft room. Mr. Awesome and you did a terrific job. Thanks so much for sharing!!?
Bee
Squeee! I’ve been waiting for your craft room tour since last year! Absolutely adore it! We now know that we can create great crafts with Stampin’ Up, a great craft room with IKEA, now if only can only figure out where to get our own Mr. Awesome…
Ginny becoming a meteorologist sounds about right… You’re already a family of stars after all.
May blessings and good fortune be yours always. Thanks for sharing!
You’re sweet Phoebe. Thank you!!!
Great craft room. Great video. Great ideas. Thanks for sharing. On another note, I received my holiday catalog today. Yay! Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL STAMP ROOM, love the organization of your space. Thanks so much for sharing!
Connie were do I find the rods for the punches, couldn’t find them. Thanks
They are called Bygel and they are in the kitchen area of Ikea.
Yes, Momma, have a good cry. But be joyous in the fact that she is growing up and will soon be starting a wonderful life of her own. I am a hobby demonstrator, and my son is a meteorologist. But we live in two very different climates. I’m from northern Maine. But….as the saying goes, it really is a small world isn’t it? PS, loved your craft room!
WOW!!! What an awesome room! Many, many happy times stamping, videoing, and creating there 🙂
Love it, you have an awesome room. Enjoy and don’t forget to share. I love all your tips and your videos tutorials. 🙂
I need a Mr Awesome. My craft room is still in boxes from my move in April. Someone needs to moves out the boxes and set up/organize the furniture and then unpack the boxes. Is Mr Awesome coming to San Diego any time soon?
Wow Connie what a fantastic craft room, i dont think i would
ever come out if i had a craft room like yours, thanks so much for the tour.
Wow Connie, your craft room is fabulous! Thanks for sharing it with us. We recently redid part of my craft room with kitchen cabinets and I love it. I’ve struggled with what to do with my stamps and punches, which are now housed in an old china cupboard on another wall that is too narrow to put cabinets. Its centered on the wall so the doors into the room will actually open. I love what you did with your stamps and punches and am trying to see how I can make that work in my room. I can’t seem to locate the media unit on the IKEA website. I found a shell that might be it… Did you purchase shelves separately? Would you be so kind to provide rough measurements for the unit or any additional information? Thanks so much! Keep stampin’ and sharin’!
Sorry, I really thought I covered all that in the video. It’s called Besta and my unit is 2 units on top of each other. The shelves are adjustable so I made them work for me. The measurements are 47″ long by 25″ high (that is just one unit). Hope that helps!
Thanks, Connie! That helps a lot. You did say they were called Besta and you had two units but I was having trouble finding the exact ones. This will help tremendously. Now to go watch Mr. Awesome!!!
Right now I’m at the cluttery mess stage. After seeing your room, I realize I need to get more matching storage boxes. It really makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing your room with us. I love it and the colors you used.
Yeah, I know that stage. The boxes make it all clean and I label each box so organization is a breeze now.
Would be very helpful if you could post catalog numbers for each of the cabinets and media cabinets, etc. Love your room!!!
Actually, there are links in my blog post to guide you to the items on the Ikea website. Also, each cabinet has to be sized to your space. What I used in my room may not work in yours. Ikea has a website where you can build your space online. They have SO many cabinet choices and it is better for each person to go to the Ikea website to find the sizes that will fit their room than to post the actual cabinets that I used.
Hi Connie,
nasty case of craft room envy right here! I am planning on a huge makeover of my space too and had toyed with the idea of a standing table too. Could you tell me where did your husband, Rich, find the hanging rails to convert your kitchen drawers to hold the 12×12 paper? Love so much about your entire room. Really scary as I am going for aqua and white too!
I’ll check with him but it was a labor of love. A lot of converting and redesigning.
Love your craft room Connie, lots of great ideas. I’m in the thought process of redoing mine. Question: You said the one side that is narrow is upper cabinets that you put on the floor. Did IKEA have a upper cabinet with a drawer on it? Love that idea. Thanks for sharing.
IKEA cabinets are customizable so you can do anything you want with them.
