Confession time…. when I saw the Embossing Paste in the new catalog I said to myself, “Nope, nada, never gonna happen.” It looked messy and Connie “don’t do messy”.
I was sticking to my guns and refused to buy the new Embossing Paste but wouldn’t you know it, I kept seeing wonderful projects created with it.
NO, I WON’T BUY IT. Well, that’s what I told myself but I placed an order yesterday and Embossing Paste was at the top of my list. What changed my mind? Well I saw a great video that Stampin’ Up put out about Embossing Paste and well, what can I say? It didn’t look that messy, the texture was amazing, and it looked so easy to work with.
Some things I learned about Embossing Paste:
- It dries quickly so I don’t have to wait 24-hours for it to dry
- You can color Embossing Paste with reinker – custom colors! LOVE it!
- A little goes a long way so it’s a product that will last and last
- Use with Pattern Party Masks for a perfect pattern every time. There are 4 patterns in the package.
- It dries fast so be sure to clean the tools right away.
I can’t wait for my order to come now! Not sure why I judged that little jar so harshly but now I am excited!
Let me share today’s WHAT’S NEW WEDNESDAY video with you. Maybe it will change YOUR mind too…

A Weight Watchers update today…. so I have been stuck on a roller coaster for the last 6 weeks. Up 2 lbs., down 2 lbs. up 1 lb., down 1 lb. I just wasn’t getting past my initial 12 lb. loss. I was so frustrated!
If you’re not familiar with how Weight Watchers works, you get “points” for the day and every food has a point value. You also get “Weekly” points that you can use in any way or any time you want (so yes, you can have pizza, birthday cake, or a nice dinner out).
I have been exercising a lot and staying under my Daily Points and not touching my Weekly Points. I was proud of the fact that I was able to resist the Weeklies. So, like I said, I am stuck on this roller coaster of gaining/losing. I did some research and people were saying to make sure you are eating your Weekly Points if you are stuck on a plateau. Hey, you don’t have to tell me twice to EAT MORE to lose weight. This past week we had that huge meal at the Melting Pot and then I drank a lot of fruit smoothies. Well, mainly grapes…. fermented grapes. Okay, I drank wine… a lot of wine… last week. I blew through those Weekly Points with no problem whatsoever. Did I exercise as much as I normally do? Nope. Just busy I guess, but I did get about 4 hours of walking in last week but I usually get 5-6.
With all that said, did I lose weight last week? I can’t believe it, but yes. I lost 2 lbs. WHAT?????? I think what was happening is that, even though I was staying within my Daily Points and with all the exercise, my body went into “starvation mode”, holding on to fat rather than letting it go.
Lesson learned! I will now eat those Weekly Points and enjoy them! However, I might want to cut back on my “grape smoothies”. hehehe

Did you make the leaf card at the top of the page?? I LOVE it!!! Would love to know how u did it!!
Stampin’ Up made that sample. Looks like they stamped on strips and then die cut it.
connie. you are too funny. not only do i love your video presentations (i think it might have something to do with the fluttering hands but i am not sure!!!) but i love listening to your voice. and even tho i have been a demonstrator for maybe 13 years (???) you still come up with techniques, hints, etc that are new to me. for instance, the embossing paste thing. like you, NO WAY was i going to attempt to get into that mess. but your encouragement to watch the SU! video (plus the fact that you felt the same way about embossing past originally that i did!!!) convinced me to watch it on your blog. oh, my goodness. now i want to try it. never EVER thought watching that video would have that effect and had it not been for YOUR efforts in that direction, i would never have even considered it. but now . . .
all this to say thank you!!! you are right up at the top of my favorite SU! bloggers, trust me. :)))
jo ann.
Jo Ann, you are so sweet. Thanks!!
Tired the embossing paste and it is great fun with all kinds of stencils.
Can I borrow the ‘Fruit Smoothies’ definition – love it! Grapes are definitely good for you. I have the embossing paste, haven’t tried it yet, but can’t wait to play. Thanks Connie, from South East Queensland, Australia.
Love a good fruit smoothie
Hi Connie… just wanted to say congrats on your weight loss endeavors. I hope this goes without saying, but remember as your losing and exercising, that muscle weighs more than fat…. so you need to look at inches lost as well as overall weight. Keep it up!
And thanks for all your tips… love them!
Good advice. I am really trying to not let the scale define me. My weight can change 2 lbs in an hour!
